bodacious balcony!!!

Yes, it's a regular Preferred View. I think I read here that all of the Village Green-facing rooms are studios. I hope someone will confirm or correct me on that info.

We had the corner room closest to the Screen Door on the second floor. It was not quite corner as I think there was a castmember room or a stairwell or something next to us. This was second floor and it was a one bedroom. We had 2 balconies - the ginormous one that looked over the Village Green and the boat dock and surrey bike rental area and a smaller one with a roof over it - room for barely the teeney table and chair, that was sort of over the Wyland Galery entrance. The huge balcony was of the bedroom and the teeny one of the livingroom area. This one bedroom was classed as Boardwalk View which is what we had booked.

That is 2051 and I don't think it should be a BW view room but it is. When we had it a tree blocked much of the view on the balcony but the tree may be taller now and blocking a different floor's view!

After 3 years of playing it by ear and getting craptastic ground floor rooms 3 times in a row I'm gonna request one of these rooms if I can. LOL Me want balcony not patio. LOL LOL

p.s. We've had our DVC for over 10 years now and only in the last 3 have we had ground floor. I wonder if they keep giving those rooms to people who don't speak up and just accept it when truthfully we'd always rather have had a balcony.

OP, congrats on such a great score with your room!
just make sure you request upper floor when booking (though some have not had great luck with requests, we've almost always gotten exactly what we requested in the past 12+ years).
one of the very few times we didn't get our request (we always book BW view: near elevator, upper floor) was our lastest trip, in may. it all worked out wonderfully though: between that ENORMOUS balcony where we could easily watch the street performers and the close proximity to a stairwell which led to the main pool or canal, we think we might have found a new favorite (the only drawback was that the views of illuminations were not as good. but like DH said, we've see the show from our balcony soooooo many times, the different "conveniences" of a 2nd floor room might be worth the trade-off).

Yes - I will bring my tree pruning shears next time! Just kidding!

It basically blocked the Village Green area view, which was sort of the direction of the fireworks also. It was january so no leaves per se. We still enjoyed the vastness of the balcony.
