Day Three - Sunday

Today was an EE day at MK so we rolled out of bed bright and early. Ok so we weren’t feeling so bright by it was early. I just love having Mickey wake me up. It makes getting up early so much easier. I had double-checked last night about the time for the first bus leaving for MK and we were the first family at the bus stop. It didn’t take long for a line to form, all sorts of bleary eyed parents schlepping into the bright sun with a death grip on their morning coffee, tired toddlers in tow. Ok so maybe we do look a little brighter than they do this morning. Well at least I hope so. I am positive that by the end of the trip we will more resemble those families than fresh of the plane tourists. You can always spot the new arrivals can’t you. ;) When I need a little pick me up I like to follow and listen to their excitement.

When we arrived at the MK there were only 15-20 families in line and I let my navigator pick a line for us. No matter where we were or how crowded the lines Brice has developed a knack for finding the shortest line. He is really good at it and he was in charge for the whole trip. Not once did he fail. I wish I could charge for his services and then we could get back to Florida more often. We headed down to the far turnstiles closest to the monorail and had a great view to watch the family of the day. More first timer excitement to tap into and get us prepped for the day. Walking into the MK first thing in the morning is the most magical feeling! Ok so walking down Main Street anytime is magical and that feeling keeps us coming back. (It’s better than a 99-cent margarita at Tumbleweed.) Arriving at the castle I pointed out the stepsister’s eyes, green with envy, and rushed into Tinkerbell’s Treasures. We were one of the first families in Fantasyland so I decided to try and surprise the kids by seeing if we could release Tink. The shop was open but no one was home. No CM, no Tink. Can’t waste time now we have to ride Pooh and Peter Pan. These are two of the best rides but there is no way I am going to wait in line 30+ minutes to ride them later on. We walk on Pooh, twice. Thank goodness there was no one riding with us because we know the script of the ride by heart and we tend to repeat it. On to Peter Pan and we get to fly over London. Wish this ride was longer. MK is the only park I use EE for because it is so valuable to have no lines/no wait in Fantasyland. We headed to ride Space Mountain and Buzz as well this morning before we went for breakfast with the Mouse.

A late PS at Chef Mickey’s was next thankfully because by this time I need to sit for little while. No wait and we filled soon we were heaping food on our plates. I wondered why my plate didn’t seem to hold very much until I sat down and realized I had picked up a kid’s plate. Ooops if I do that I’ll likely burn off all those lovely calories refilling my plate. Next trip I remedied that problem and we stuffed ourselves silly. We had time to eat a bit before the characters came around. DD and DS are getting older and didn’t want to stand in line to see the characters much this trip but they loved getting hugs at the character meals. DS loves Donald but we found out he only likes the prime rib at dinner. We will see him later in the week at Breakfastasourous so DS isn’t too disappointed. The last character to see was Mickey and we were done eating so we waited patiently. When the kids had their turn for some mouse loving the funniest thing happened. Now most of us have experienced the stray kid rushing in your pictures, some have even experienced a stray adult or family. What happened next was straight out of the Disney version of Deliverance, no offence meant to any southerners. All of a sudden this Jeff Foxworthy look alike starts chasing after his son that rushed in to hug Mickey, all the while toting a video camera and yelling back to his table (all 12 of them) that it was Mickey. This man was more excited than I had seen many kids that day. Soon the table followed. Ok I like my personal space and now I had none but I was able to keep the crowd at bay. Mickey, great as always, made sure he took time with my kids but we may have a spare kid in the pictures. As soon as we were done the entire family stayed by our table to see Mickey and it was very funny to watch. DD and I were giggling at their excitement and lack of manners; hopefully the lack of manners was because of the excitement.

Back to the hotel and a swim and a rest was in order now. That was the order of our days during this vacation. After a quick dinner in the room we trekked back to the MK to catch Spectromagic. We stopped for a Mickey rice crispie treat and two worms in dirt at the bakery, rode lots of rides and staked out a spot for Spectro. Our favorite spot by the checkers was taken, DS is the checkers king and he loves beating us while we wait, but he found something else to keep him busy. He had seen the little plastic cowboys and indians set earlier so he walked across the street to buy them. They kept him bust while we waited and only cost a couple of dollars. DD and I played with the dollar store glow sticks I had brought while we waited and soon it was time for the parade. We saw it wind its way around Liberty Square towards us and it was spectacular just like we remembered. Tired and happy we dragged our bodies back to the hotel.

Tomorrow Epcot and the search for some entertainment.

child.......i always pick the wrong one no matter what.......thanks so much for your great report.......sounds like you all had a great time

I am like pumba. I could pick the shortest line, and it would still take the longest. Maybe I culd borrow Brice for our trip in December. :p

Great trip report. :)
