Bob Iger Makes 51.1 MILLION in Fiscal 2008

this is an honest answer....

51.1 million/year is $25,550/hour. That's more than I make in a year!!

Even if you figure he works 80 hours/week, it's still $12,775/hour!!!!! I don't care how good he is, as a share holder, he ain't worth that!

My stock is worth less than it was a year ago today, when I go to WDW, I get less bang for my buck and I pay more, and he's getting millions upon millions for this gross mismanagement!

Now granted his stock options make up a great portion of this compensation, which are "underwater," right now, and he did decline a 2.2 million bonus which he was entitled to, but when your actual paycheck is $152,000/week after taxes, you can afford to give up that measly $21,000/week. :sad2:

Thanks for your response. I don't think I need to let you know that I still don't see the problem here but for the record...I don't see the problem. Like I said before, I don't agree but I'm not going to debate this(I know that your not debating, you just answered my question). I can appreciate your opinion though.

NOW

Do you guys realize that you are a part of the 'problem' when you still continue to go to Disney world or support other parts of the Disney company with your money? I'm not saying that you are a problem since I don't see an issue here anyway, but if you think that his sallary is wrong and your the one giving your hard earned money to him your a part of it. That's the beauty of capatolism. You are able to 'punish' people that misbehave.

mmmmmmm cake.. anyone here ever have boston cream pie from Marie Calendars? Love it!!!

Wow. $152,000/week. I can't even wrap my head around that. But for what it's worth, here is a list of jobs/achievements I think are worth paying someone that much:

1. Someone who finds a cure for cancer
2. Someone who finds a cure for AIDS
3. Someone who finds a cure for *fill in the blank*
4. Someone who brings world peace
5. Someone who finds a way to feed all the people on this planet
6. Someone who invented Mickey Mouse; thought up a theme park and called it Disneyland and then another called DisneyWorld, created broadway musical caliber animated movies; and brought joy to millions.

- someone who is selling off this wondrous world of Disney, hiking up prices, 'manages' to the stockholder, and thinks "direct to DVD" is a great thing? Well - not so much...

Oh - and the most important part of this post? I vote Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream! YUM!!

I think people that like cheesecake have a screw loose, unless it has lots of chocolate in it (not on it) then it is not really cheesecake but chocolate with baked cream cheese but then, as I get nearer to AARP eligibility, the cake v pie debate becomes steak v pie. Give me protein. Unless there is pecan pie because pecans are a good source of protein, so I am told (by the pecan industry).

Did I mention it is snowing and 34 degrees here?

Oh no you dont!!:badpc: do not change this argument to steak vs pie... If we start talking steak, we'll be here forever!!

I think Jon just gave me "the Look." How ironic.

For $51 million Iger could;

1. Add another Fantasmic show per week.
2. Fix the Yeti.
3. Make Sounds Dangerous a better show.
4. Bring back the live cast members for Living With The Land
5. Upgrade the restrooms at the Magic Kingdom
6. Fix the rockfall that wasn't working on Big Thunder
