BOB Duallie or City Mini double?

I just got an unexpected bonus from work & can afford to buy a stroller for my twins now! :cool1:

I have a double snap & go to use with their infant seats, but after 2 walks around the block this week, I haaaaate it with a passion. It's impossible to steer & is awful on the bumpy sidewalks. The girls hate it, unless I'm on smooth pavement.

I'm trying to decide between the BOB Revolution Duallie and the City Mini double.

Our requirements:
- Smooth ride on uneven sidewalks
- Ability to take off-road on gravel, grass & dirt (we hike every fall but the trails are pretty tame -- most are handicap accessible)
- Fit through normal sized doorways
- Light enough for me to handle myself
- Capable of very occasionally carrying my 3.5yo DD (avg height/weight)

Anyone have any recommendations?

We have a BOB and love it! When my kids were 3 and 5, I used it when I would take them on runs around a park and even walks around the mall. It's fairly wide, but I'm pretty sure that it fit through a normal doorway. Good luck on your selection!

I love our BOB Duallie. It is so easy to push and maneuver through doorways. I love how the seats recline for napping and the shade goes down low. It is truly worth every penny. I caught a good deal on albeebaby.com.

Nth-ing the BOB. I have twin boys who are 2.5 and we replaced the Maclaren Twin with the BOB and never looked back. The Mac was great for shopping and even ground, but the BOB is amazing on grass, gravel, etc. My boys are comfy, have awesome sun shading, and sit far enough back that they don't bother each other (much.) My only complaint is that the folding isn't great. It's not particularly difficult, it's just awkward to carry/move when it's folded. However, it's such a breeze to push when it's full of tots, that I forgive that little thing. Seriously, I get SO ANNOYED at shopping carts because they don't handle like BOB. I am SO spoiled. I recently started running with it too and I love it.

I have not used the City Mini, though we are renting one at WDW in October because it is lighter and smaller (slightly) than the BOB

I'd prefer a city mini (just because I hate AIR tires, they always go flat at a bad time). Another option to throw out their the the Mountain buggy Duet (its only 25" wide)!!!

I love our bob but I really don't like it for some things. When we go shopping, it's a no. It is a tight fit through a lot of doorways and you can not get through racks of clothing in shops. For that, we use our tandem. It is big and it is heavy. It also has a very bulky fold. But, for walking and taking on trails, it is awesome. My boys are 2.5 but we recently put a 6 year old and a 4 year old (well past the 100lb weight limit) and it still pushed easily one handed.

I don't have experience with the BOB but we LOVE our city mini double! It's so leightweight, really easy for me to take in and out of the car, easy to steer even when my almost 5 year old and 1.5 year old are both in it. And it fits through store doorways just fine. Of course some smaller store aisles are harder to navigate but for the most part it fits anywhere I need to go. My only real problem with it is that the storage basket is really hard to get to.

If my budget allowed I would have preferred the Indie Bumbleride for my double, but using the REI sale I got such a great deal on the BOB that I couldn't justify the Bumbleride pricetag. THe BOB is great, BUT is heavy when not in use. It does fit in my sedan trunk, but I need to take the wheels off. I would never attempt airtravel with it, but I've seen people fly with the Indie Twin. I pushed the citi mini in a baby store and it did not compare to the BOB at all.

We do love our BOB, but it's in no way compact! Doorways are not a problem generally, though.

The BOB is awesome for big open spaces. Nothing rides/pushes so well but for inside..not quite so great.

I have the Bumbleride Indie Twin for our girls which has been fabulous.

All strollers have pros and cons.

side note: I have a Mac double too AND HATE IT. Everyone finds things they love and hate about all strollers.

If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you, I would go there to play with them all (they have Bob, Indie, Citi, etc) but DON"T buy there, you can def find cheaper elsewhere.

happy shopping!

for off roading you'll need an all terrain like a bob... but if you want to know what stroller is best for Disney - the City Mini is perfect.

I have owned about 12 different strollers over the past 5 years for my 1+ twins. I recently rented the City Mini double with a ride-on board for my kids at Disney and LOOOOOVED it.

The new city mini GT might have big enoguh tires for what you want to use it for. I had a Valco Trimode twin all terrain that I adored- but recently sold b/c my boys are 3 yo now and rarely in a stroller.

Somebody else that hates their Mac. I always read how much everybody loves Maclaren. I just don't get it. Also agree, order online.

We have a single Mac that I don't mind but the double (for me) is TERRIBLE! Horrible to push, super hard to open and the clips - I can BARELY open them. Anywhoo, I have a brand new Mac Techno Twin in black should someone be interested in buying ;)

Didn't maclaren just file for bankrupsy? I would not buy one - won't get any help if something goes wrong with it. I have never liked them much anyway... but wanted to warn.

I'm a Baby Jogger fan --- LOVE my Select, loved the Mini i rented... fantastic features (easy fold, etc) on all their strollers.

I have a Bob Duallie and I love it! I have used a city mini while at Disney, and loved that as well though. From what I have seen the City Mini is a lot less expensive, but I still like my Bob better!:thumbsup2
