I was wondering if anyone has eaten at Boatwrights recently. We are trying to sort out our ADR's for our late May trip. We thought one day we might just like to hang around the hotel and thought Boatwrights might work out for us. We looked at the menu on allearsnet and it looked pretty good to us. Just wondering if anyone would care to share their thoughts.

We ate at Boatwrights a little over two weeks ago and it was a surprising delight. You can read my review here and my partner's here.

We had dinner at Boatwright's in November, 2010 and really enjoyed it very much. Service was good, cornbread was outstanding with whipped butter. Two of us had the beef medallions and thought it was yummy, one of us had the pork chop and liked it a lot, and lastly, DH had the prime rib and absolutely loved it. We all had pecan pie for dessert but were too stuffed from our meal, our server boxed it up for us and we enjoyed it the next day for a snack, it was a large portion and very good. We would have gone back to eat there again this year but I had to cancel our ADR due to time restraints.

I had dinner there this past February and the food was good. Unfortunately, my ADR somehow got messed up, and even though I had a confirmation number, my family ended up waiting standby for over an hour. All was not lost however, because the lounge is really close by and we stepped in to hear YeHaw Bob, which was an unexpected treat.

I think Boatwright's is perfect for a guest of POR to eat at on a night where they plan to just hang out and relax at the resort. We don't feel it is worth traveling to if you are staying at a different resort.

If you are planning on hanging out at the resort, look into the horse-drawn carriage rides. They probably run about $40 or so now (they were $35 a couple of years ago) for the carriage, not per person. You can call to book it and ask for an exact price. It is a nice, relaxing way to see some of the resort. Stop off at the River Roost Lounge before you go to grab a drink to take with you. :thumbsup2
