Hi, I know this is written somewhere, but at the moment I cannot find it....can you please tell me if the boats are ECV accessible to and from the Wilderness Lodge? The last time I stayed at the GF I could NOT take a boat back from the MK to GF beacuse of my scooter. I know there are different marked boats and different reasons and I am trying to find the rundown on all of this. THANKS

Generally only one of the two boats on the MK/WL run can accommodate your ECV, the other is the same type of boat that runs from GF. WL does have a bus to MK, that does not share with other hotels, so the ride is about 5 min.

You can find more information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in post #8, but to answer quickly, the smaller boats that go to GF and the other resorts that are very close to MK are not accessible because there is a step down to get in.

WL and FW are served by the larger boats that are accessible - at least most of the time. THere are some times that they are not accessible because the water level is either too high or too low. The boat captains have some ways to deal with it, like loading the wheelchair/scooter last if they need the weight of the other passengers to make the boat lower.

If it is not accessible, there will be other ways to get to the park (like buses).

There are two direct boats to MK from Wilderness Lodge. The larger cruiser boat IS accessible. The smaller launch is not accessible.

There is also a direct bus to MK from Wilderness Lodge. All of the buses are accessible.

They have pretty much fixed all of the water level issues at WL and Fort Wilderness. All of the docks are now floating docks.

There is also a pathway in between WL and Fort Wilderness where you can go to the Fort Wilderness docks where there are two larger cruisers that go directly between Fort Wilderness and MK. Those are both accessible.
