Just got a call from Boatrights saying they were no longer serving breakfast beginning Feb 22...which happened to be the morning we had a reservation. Argh!
We are SOOO disappointed by this change.
Bicker, do you know why they are closing? Any chance they will have their fabulous, only-get-it-there specialties in the food court? (I know, it's a stupid question, but figured I'd ask)
This was posted a couple of weeks ago. My DH was very disappointed as he really wanted to try the sweet potato pancakes this year as he's heard such great reviews on it. Truthfully, we feel they should stay open for breakfast since everyone praises it and close for dinner. We didn't like dinner there at all.
I just called and asked the CM to relay my utter dismay at this turn of events.
Perhaps if enough of us call in -- well we can hope for some pixie dust anyway.
We plan to stuff ourselves on the pancakes and french toast next week to last us a lifetime.
Good thing we have the recipes. DS15 has been known to recreate the banana stuffed toast.
No, but I've been expecting it, and not only due to the economic downturn, but also because curtailing full-service restaurants at the moderate resorts helps differentiate the deluxe resorts.
Folks who really want a good breakfast should check out the Grand Floridian Cafe... it is worth the trip. You can reach it from the Magic Kingdom via monorail. Whispering Canyon is also very good, and loads of fun (but you gotta take a bus from the Magic Kingdom). Spoodles used to be a lot better, but it is still pretty good.
It's too bad. The sweet potato pancakes were very good. It was a nice relaxing breakfast that wasn't much pricier than the counter service at the resort.
I agree wholeheartedly! Keep it open for breakfast. I am heartbroken by this news, and plan to write a letter. I go there every trip just for the Fresh Strawberries & Cream.
