We are spending one day at MK, and are staying at POR. We also have a rental car. We plan on being at MK most of the day, but think a few hours back at POR would revive us before heading back for the night parade and fireworks. We are a party of 7 with kids and dining plan.
Any suggestions?:thumbsup2

Another vote for Kona - it's a favorite for us. Boatrights and Tony's are both pretty mediocre. Never done Wave.

I have another suggestion. :) The Grand Floridian Cafe.

We've eaten here several times and have enjoyed it every time. The MK is also the next stop on the monorail, so if your dinner runs a bit late you don't have to feel too stressed/rushed.

We also really like Kona and the Wave, but you'd have to deal with more stops which equals more travel time.

We like Kona alot!

Do not care for Boatwrights or Tony's

Never been to Wave

We have always been well taken care of at Wave. It is one of my favorite places at Disney, and always very low volume.

Breakfast is usually really good, but one of my favorite meals was a well-earned lunch after airport hell and a very stiff drink and a super sweet waitress.

I'm narrowed down to Kona and Wave. I love the laid back feeling of Poly, and think a nice tropical drink would start the night well! But the Wave sounds nice too....

Kona is really nice, but ive only ever eaten there for breakfast. IMO Wave is a little more private.

30 years here, with a brief respite in Grafton for half a decade :)

LOL! My sister lived in the Grafton area for years. Well thank you, you sold me on the Wave. Which drink and dinner would you suggest? I'm a culinary student, so I'm up for anything...

I would go with Boatwright's , since you will be going back to POR during the day it makes alot of sense:confused3, They have really good food and I would highly recommend it, the only thing we didn't like was the bus ride, it was kind off long since POR has alot of stops, but since you would already be there, you would save alot of time running around, plus have a really good meal:confused3:woohoo:

I had the marg and she had the strap-hanger cocktail (lots of rum and a flashing ice cube -- "Tropi-glow" Cocktail)

I like the beef tenderloin :) Nice potatoes.

I vote for Kona. Our last trip to Boatwright's was honestly the WORST meal we had ever had on property. It was really awful - first they did not put my order in and didn't realize it until after all the other food for the rest of my family was brought out. The waitress realized that she must have forgotten to put in the order on her sheet. So I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my food. Then when it made its appearance I really wished it hadn't - it was practically inedible. The waitress noticed that I ate next to nothing and we didn't have to pay for it - which was good since I had to hit a counter service for something else.

Kona has always been excellent service and food - we love it so much we are booked twice for our upcoming trip!

I have been to The Wave but never Kona though I am looking to go for breakfast possibly. The Wave is best for Dinner I am not a fan of sandwiches which is mostly their lunch menu. And the desserts? Forgitabout it!
