Okay...I'm pretty good at getting from point A to point B at WDW. Obviously. But....yesterday was not to be believed. Needed to be at OKW for 5:25. So, left BWVs at 4:00. Decided to go to DTD and take the boat over. Plenty of time, right? Nope. Waited about 15 mins for the DTD bus....what I figured on. Went right to DTD. Great. Had time to kill so, got off at Marketplace to walk to the West Side, or PI, dock. Got there, only to find out the boats weren't running, due to high winds! Alright, I'm certainly no authority, but seriously? There was a breeze, not a 'wind'. The water had barely a ripple...anywhere! So, now we have to trek to the PI bus stop, and wait.....and wait...and wait for the OKW bus....took almost 30 mins! And of course, we had to stop at TL. Got to OKW at 5:30!
So.....long story short? Plan on 90 mins! Who knew a slight breeze is enough to stop the boats!

It would be nice if Disney were better at communicating situations.

I would love to be able to make an announcement to my Guests when monorails or boats are down due to weather or other unforeseen conditions, but bus drivers are rarely informed about things like that.

Maybe you could drop a note to Guest Relations with that suggestion? I've brought it up many times, with no results. They listen a lot more to Guest complaints than to what we suggest.

I think I might. If I had known I wasn't going to be able to take the boat to OKW, I would have transferred to their bus at Marketplace.
