I have Hoop de Doo ressies for a 7:15 show on a Thurs night on the first of May. I really want to avoid the bus hassle. I read in Sellinger's book about a boat (that goes between the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness) that is much quicker. I think we could get to the TTC much faster. Anyway does anyone here know about the boat? How often does it go between the resorts? Does it stop after the MK closes? Thanks to any and all who can help!

The boat runs every 15 or so minutes between Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary until 10:00pm each night.

By comparison, you could take the monorail to the TTC. There is a bus from the TTC that goes to Fort Wilderness as well. That bus runs approx every 9-12 minutes.

As for which is quicker... they're both about the same, I'd guess. One might be one minute quicker than the other. Nothing substantial.

Does it go to the Contemporary or The Wilderness Lodge after it leaves Fort Wilderness? Thanks!

Depends on the time of day. To be honest, not quite sure the order for before or after 3:00pm (which is typically when they change)

But - if you take the bus to FW don't you still have to ride the internal bus through FW to get to Pioneer Hall. I was told by Guest Services when I made my PS that it could take as long as 30 minutes to get from the front of FW to Pioneer Hall. Where if you take the boat it's a short walk over to Pioneer Hall...

No. The bus starts off at TTC as the (unofficial) "Blue" route. It then goes to Wilderness Lodge. From there, its next stop is the Fort Wilderness Settlement Depot, where it turns into the Orange route. The Settlement Depot is where Pioneer Hall is.

As for getting from the front (Outpost Depot) to Settlement Depot... it's 5-8 minutes, TOPS. Only the Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and Epcot busses drop off at the Outpost Depot. From there, Yellow, Orange, and Purple busses run three different routes up to the Settlement Depot. Each of those buses are on set time tables. They leave the Outpost on the :10 minute mark, and are due out to leave the settlement on the next :10 minute mark as well. Often times, they arrive 3-5 mins early, and just sit, and wait for folks.

One more thing... the best piece of advice I have for folks... I don't care who you ask... Guest Relations... Park Greeters... a manager... Mickey himself... If they're not in Purple... DONT TRUST THEM. Always verify your information with a bonafide Disney Bus Driver... More times than not, non-transportation folk really dont know what they're talking about.
