does anyone know how late the boat from epcot to mgm runs? does it run through illuminations? thanks ::MickeyMo

we were there about a month ago and we left mgm via boat to go 2 epcot to watch illuminations... we then took the boat back to mgm for emh...the boats were defientaly running... i think the boats run at least an 1/2 after the park closes

Ok, I'm always learning something new. Where is this boat? How long does it take to get from Epcot to MGM? One day in our schedule we're going to epcot in the a.m. then to MGM for late lunch and attempting to do Fantasmic. This might be a little more fun than the bus/monorail method.

thanks :sunny:

I would love to know this too, and I thought I knew everything about Disney. ..boy was I wrong, didn't know this boat existed.

the boats are located at the international gateway in epcot. next to the united kingdom before you cross the bridge to france. this is the entrance hotels guests of swan/dolphin/beach&yacht club/boardwalk use. the boat stops at all those hotels enroute to epcot but its a great little cruise. i don't remember how long the actual trip is. pirate:

I am going to guess that the entire trip, with the three hotel stops, takes around 25-30 minutes. There is no question that you can walk the distance and beat the boat. The only time the boat is faster is IF you get one right away and it leaves immediatley, AND you are only going to the Swan/Dolphin. Under any other conditions walking will win.
When we stayed at the Yacht Club two years ago we always beat the boat back with normal walking.
We never walking the entire distance from the Studios to Epcot. I would suggest anyone going the whole route is better off taking the boat.

The boat is not the fastest, but it is certainly easier on the feet. :teeth:

Well said, cindy_k.
After all the walking at WDW the Friendship boats are a nice (slow) relaxing ride.
