Boat to Downtown Disney

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to Downtown Disney from POFQ on the Boat? and Also how late do the buses run?

The river pilots will tell you 30 minutes, but that all depends on the driver. Also, they put in newer boats a year or so ago that seem to go faster. I always plan on 20-30 minutes. The boats run from late afternoon until late evening (times are subject to change and the boats do not run in inclement weather). The buses are a shorter ride and run from morning to night. The last bus leaves Downtown Disney at 2 AM. We usually ride the boat to Downtown Disney when it's light out because it's such a great trip and then take the bus back to POR in the dark. Definitely plan on riding the boat at least once!

Thanks for the info. We are driving down and aren't quite sure if we will have time to go to Downtown Dis. or not.

One other thing to factor in- When we stayed there in 2000 we made the mistake of taking the boat to DD for dinner with 2 hungry toddlers. Because of the crowds of people waiting at the dock for the boat we actually didn't get on until the third one. In the end, it took about one and a half hours to get to DD.Perhaps someone with more recent experience can speak to the wait time this year.
