Does anyone know how long the boat ride takes to get to DTD from POR? And is there only 1 stop in DTD or are there several. We have never stayed in POR and trying to plan our dining itenariary's. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I love POR. When you leave POR the Riverboat Captain usually says it is approx. a 20 min. ride. I never timed it though. After leaving POR you make a stop at POFQ to pick-up, then off to Downtown Disney. It is a really nice boatride. You pass the old TreeHouses, the Golfcourses, and I think 1 or 2 of the newer vacation clubs near the Downtown Disney area. There is only 1 stop at Downtown Disney which is Marketplace. You get off right behind the Rainforest Cafe by Captain Jack's. You can get on another boat right there where you get off and take it over to the other side of Downtown Disney. It will take you over by the House of Blues area. I hope this helps!!!!

Are your dining plans for DD, PI or Westside? If you are eating in DD, then it approximately 20 minutes from POR to DD. If you are going to PI or Westside, you could either walk or take another boat. Might be quicker to just walk. The boat transportation is a great perk for POR!

After staying twice at POFQ and taking the boat almost nightly over to DTD, I can tell you that the bus is probably quicker. :rotfl:

But, the boat is a great atmospheric perk! After riding the bus to and from parks, it's nice to sit back and relax on the water. Plus, the boats are never crowded it's a quiet ride. :thumbsup2

At certain times of the year, the boat only runs to Marketplace, so you will have to walk to PI or Westside (no option of taking the boat over to that side of DTD).

We have dinner reservations for 3 nights in DTD. I agree with the above comment that the relaxation and scenic benefits of a boat ride far outweigh any cons. As always thank you for all input.
