Boat Ride at AK?

...I went to AK on the summer when the park open and I dont seem to remember the boat ride

then o few weeks ago I saw a picture of it thats what intrigued me ..
...Its a waste I would like to ride it just for relax myself and get great views of the tree of life

...thanks a lot anyway just for all the info and responses at my curiosity you are the bests DISers...

long before AK opened I had cut out (and have somewhere) several articles about the plans for AK. Our local zoo director was involved so maybe we had more articles than other areas.

I know they described the plans for a section for MYTHICAL ANIMALS, such as the dragon, unicorn, pegasas etc. I always assumed it would be built where the dragon was after the park opened.

Has anyone ever heard of this section ~ and why it never happened? I think it would be a "magical" plus to this park.

Beastly Kingdom was originally slated to go where CMM is. It was to feature a maze and an inverted coaster among other things. The coaster was to be a rundown castle where crystal Bats were to fly around the castle in pursuit of a jewel guarded by a Dragon. Then IOA did Dueling Dragons. There is a picture in the book "The making of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park" ; page 172.

And if you look at some of the items in AK such as the benches, some have animal figures on them and a dragon is one of them. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why there was a dragon, then when I found out about Beastly Kingdom, it explained a few things.

My kids make me stop at that bridge every time we're in AK, just in case that dragon is working again!! We saw it the very first year and that was it.
