what can we expect in terms of seas in october? i keep reading that the seas will most likely be rough because it is hurricane season---please tell me that isnt so--we sailed in dec of 2000 on a 7 day, and the seas were kind of rough. is the 3 day typically worse (because the boat is travelling faster)? my husband is very reluctant to cruise again (thats an understatement). any hopeful comments (or otherwise)?
thanks!

Good morning Jayne.

any hopeful comments (or otherwise)?

Today's meteorologists can't predict the afternoon's weather accurately, so October is "up-for-grabs," so to speak. Expect somewhat rough seas due to hurricane season and have a pleasant surprise if the cruise sails in calm waters...

You can have a calm 2-week cruise and a rough 1-day cruise...

Hi!

We had 3.5 days of perfect seas and one very rough night -- we could feel the boat rolling... It was a little disconcerting, but I trust DCL and the captain & officers. If it were too dangerous, they would have shifted course.

Hopefully, you will get the three perfect days!

which 3 days were perfect? and which day and a half was rocky? i am not so worried aobut safety--i just dont wnat to talk my husband into cruising for him to be seasick! was it the day down to nassau that was rocky? or back from castaway cay?
thanks!

We've been on 2 3 nights in October. The first in 2001, was very smooth, with no problems, just a little bumpy going down to Nassau. Last years 3 night was very rough--but no one in our party got seasick. It was more like I'd had a little bit too much to drink and was tilting a bit. This was the night going to Nassau, but there was a hurrican kicking out in the ocean which caused the problem. I would guess that the first night would be the roughest, simply because that is the night you go the fastest and furtherest. We (and all the other people on last October's trip) enjoyed it so much, we're going back this October 2-5.
