Boat Lauch at the Landing?

I love the boats to and from OKW and POR, it just is unfortunate they drop you off at the most inconvenient point in Disney Springs... I was wondering if anyone knows why they don't utilize the Landing boat launch anymore and how long has it been since they've used it?

Guests visiting DS go through security. Boat pax go through the security checkpoint used by guests walking, I think some driving and some ride share.

Disney doesn't want to spend $$ to screen at the resorts or to set up screening at the Landing

We were just there, security coming off the buses consisted of two officers and a dog standing around. Doesn't seem that burdensome from a cost perspective.

Yes, everyone coming in from the Orange and Lime garages goes through security screening.
