I did a search and found a few results on this but the answers were from a few years ago so I thought I would check and see if anyone had more recent info.
I'm wondering about the hours of the boat that runs between POR and Downtown Disney. Do they run in the morning? Are they on a schedule or do you just have to "catch one" like the buses? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

The boat to Downtown Disney runs from 4 pm to 11 pm. The boat to the French Quarter runs from 9 am to 9 pm. I believe they run the same as the buses ... every 15-20 minutes.

I think they start running about 11:00 and then run more frequently after 4:00. But I'm getting old and the memory ain't what it used to be.:rolleyes1

Here you go. This photo was taken at the boat dock at POFQ and should answer most of your questions. The first boat to DTD leaves POR at about 11 AM, stops at POFQ to pick up/drop off passengers, and then continues to DTD.

Boats do run earlier than 11, but only between POR and POFQ.

There is no strict schedule; that really isn't practical. Things can happen to throw the schedule off from time to time, just like the buses (wheelchair passengers, etc.), but generally its been my experience that the boats are much more predictable than the buses.

I hadn't thought about the schedule, but have written it on our itinerary for our December trip. I hadn't thought about the boat not running earlier than 11:00am, so we will plan accordingly.

Thanks again.

Hands down the best way to travel between PO and DTD.

DH, DS and I stayed at POFQ in September. It was our first trip to DW and we loved it. We did the bus to DTD one day and it was typical bus travel. The next day we took the boat and it was wonderful. We used the boat whenever we could, to go to POR or DTD. The perfect day is sleeping in one morning, catching the boat to DTD just before noon and having lunch and doing some shopping. Hop back on the boat to the resort to drop off the packages and then head back down to DTD for dinner and a night out.

One side not to be aware of... the cut-off for the last boat is firm. If you're in line when the boats stop sailing you'll have to walk to the bus anyway. We were in line just before the cut-off and managed to get onto the last boat back to POFQ. Those in line behind us were not so lucky.

Either way, the boat is the way to go.

Thanks so much for that photo Tink's! and everyone else for the info. That helps a lot:)
