Hmmm, boats with a roof. Does this mean that the Trumbo Ferry (or will they rename it?) will run in slightly rainy weather, or cool weather or threatening weather? What about plastic curtains to keep out the weather?
Larger boats may also mean the end of personal service-no more towels to keep the knees warm, no more discussions with the 'ferry pilot' about the birds or the resorts or tips on what to do or what's coming up next or any other neat stuff.
Larger boats will hold more folks but does that mean that more will want to take it? Longer lines waiting for boats? Arrgh. More boats-yes!
Will they be able to get to the dock at Turtle Krawl? Longer=harder to maneuver? Tight turn at the lighthouse? Need a larger dock at OKW?
Will the larger Trumbo Ferries be a different color than the Sassagoula Ferries? (To tell them apart from a distance.) If so then which colors will they use-to go with OKW or with SSR? Different theming, very different colors used. I know we could all make cushions for the benches! They could be reversible-OKW colors on one side and SSr colors on the other!
Will they keep the signal light at the SSR dock? (Back before it was DI you could be let off at the dock to have dinner at the clubhouse restaurant and then signal for a pick up when you were done.)
What happens when the boat fills at OKW? Will folks then get on at SSR for the return trip to OKW and stay on for the return to DTD thus avoiding the full boat but preventing OKW guests from getting on? How about a digital sign like on the buses telling us where they are going?
Oh my the possibilities are endless!
