My hubby and I are going to Disney in May and will be staying at the Boardwalk. Can anyone who has stayed there give us advice on which is the best room to try and get. I understand there are like 5 buildings or something.

:bounce:

Welcome to the boards! I'll be staying there for the first time in late May as well. I've requested a courtyard view on a high floor.

I noticed you are from North Carolina, so am I. WOW small world and you are going to Disney in May too and staying at the Boardwalk.

:)

Are you staying at the Inn or the Villas. There is really only one building that hosues both. Do you ahve a specific view that you've paid for?

Good view -
Hey, Moms Poms!
We have stayed on the 5th floor looking out at the lawn between the Inn and the Villas and also at Crescent Lake. These rooms would be directly over the Bellvue Lounge, which is on the lobby level. The lounge is a great place to wind up the day. These rooms are more expensive, but we think in this case the water view is worth it. Others who have posted here enjoy the Garden rooms. Whichever you choose, the Boardwalk is our favorite place to stay at WDW. The pool is great, the dining choices can't be beat, and the location is fantastic. Have a most magical trip!! By the way, 3 months from right now, we should have just checked into the Swan and perhaps strolling the boards. With larger party and couldn't swing Boardwalk this trip.

P. S. Welcome to the boards

We are staying at the Inn. Someone had told me there were 5 different buildings but they must have been mistaken. We didn't really request a specific view, should we have?

Hi. again,
My wife and I no longer rush to the parks on a daily basis, so sitting on our balcony in the AM with coffee and bun overlooking the lake with boats coming and going is part of our personal Disney Magic. If one is not going to spend a lot of time in the room, then perhaps the view is less important. It all depends on how you and your wallet feel about the matter. Again, have a wonderful, magical trip. Don't miss Beaches and Cream over at the Beach Club - No Way Jose sundae.

Bob,
I'm thinking maybe we should request a certain room view. I don't mind paying the extra money for it. We too are ones that like to enjoy and relax. Love Disney but don't feel the need to see every single thing (save some for another time). This is our 25th wedding anniversary so we plan on relaxing and having fun. The view of the lake sounds wonderful. But I sure wish you had not told me about the Beaches and Cream yet. Now you know what I will have to do first!

:teeth:

PS: BTW, thanks everyone for such a warm welcome!

Wow! It was really nice and peaceful! We didn't have a view of the Boardwalk; but we did have our own white picket fenced yard with a lovely view of the gardens.(It also came with concierge service) We also had tons of room. Normally I don't care that much about how much room we have; but it was really nice since we had so much rain! Have a great trip!:)

Those are soo cute, always wanted to try one!:D

We stayed at the BW in January. We had a water view room - 3221 - that had a great view of the lagoon. The room was right above the Boardwalk Bakery.

The only downside - it was a long walk to the elevator.

I loved the BW - especially the very close proximity to EPCOT and the 15-20 minute walk to MGM.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn in January. We loved it!! We had a standard room on the fifth floor and we had a spectacular view of World Showcase from our balcony. We watched Illuminations every night from our balcony - I even video taped it! It is so convenient to have everything so close by. There are a bunch of restaurants, we loved the bakery in the morning for a quick bite to eat. There is a general store which is great for milk, juice, soda, beer, etc. (without paying a fortune) We are going back in October and we can't wait!! You will have so much fun!
