I was thinking of going to the boardwalk for dinner and some non-park time the day we arrive (probably will be 6:00pm by the time we check in off-site). I will have dh dd8 dd6 and my dad along. Any suggestions of where we would eat and what we would do there? Thanks! :earsgirl:

There are many places to eat...Spoodles, mediterranean style full meals and tapas. Flying Fish...excellent steak and seafood, there is a hot dog cart, and then you have very easy access to the other EPCOT resort restaurants at Yacht Club, Beach Club, Dolphin and Swan. Just depends on what you are looking for.

At the Boardwalk you can enjoy carnival type games, the street entertainers.

Big River Brewing is a great restaurant on the BW too. There is also the ESPN Club. Both of these have great burgers and other assorted meals as well.

Having just stayed at the BWI the past 2 years w/3 kids, I recommend either the ESPN club(great burgers and wings!), Cape May Buffet (adult and kid friendly foods), or the walk-up windows right on the boardwalk (the food is mediocre, but quick).

Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club has a wonderful dinner clam bake every day. There is a wide variety of seafood and non-seafood dishes as well as a childrens section at the buffet. Also, the desserts are awesome!

Thanks for all the info. Now where do you suggest I park?:earsgirl:

Park at the BW resort. I would suggest ESPN as a fun, casual eating place on the BW. THey had an attached arcade you could visit. Your DDs might like to get their face painted or hair wrapped on the BW, although neither is cheap. My kids just LOVED the strolling entertainers. They got to help with a card shark, rope lasso lady, a magician etc... Even though we saw the same entertainers each night they never got bored with it, actually they developed favorites like Carlo the fire eater/sword swallower and the traveling medicine man (Ejapana). :teeth:

PS. If you are there aroun 9:00 wander over toward the back enterance to Epcot and you can see fireworks from Illuminations.

wow, thanks vicb! This sounds like a great way to begin our vacation!:earsgirl:

I'd suggest dinner at ESPN for a casual meal with a fun atmosphere. There are even video games in the booths in the bar area, so you can keep the kids entertained.

The Boardwalk area is great - we'll be arriving for a week's stay there this Saturday!!!

Thanks for your post Shannon! All the feedback you all have given me has made me feel like spending our first night on the boardwalk is a good idea! I'm sure Hubby & Dad will like the atmosphere in ESPN!:smooth: I'll just be happy to see a part of the world we have not been to before!:earsgirl:

I would head to Spoodles, they have great food that everyone in your party will love. They have an arcade and bakery on the Boardwalk, plus street entertainers performing nightly. The Boardwalk is a great place at night.

Can you see Illuminations without actually going into Epcot? I am travelling with DH on business and might buy a ticket a day or two, but he likely will not. Have heard that you might be able to slip in late without a ticket. Any insight?

We want to try going to the Boardwalk on our trip. What's the easiest way to get there from CBR?
