Hey everyone. My wife and I bought at AKV and were going to take a trip at the first of june, we wanted to stay at AKV BUT they were all booked. Instead, the cast member had a boardwalk view at boardwalk villas in a 1 br. We took it, but i dunno... i'm a little bummed about not being in AKV. someone please tell me that boardwalk is awesome!!:)

I own at AKV, but I love BWV! The boardwalk view is so beautiful! Don't worry, I am sure you will love it. :goodvibes

We have taken over 10 trips to BWV and it is a wonderful resort in a central location. Boardwalk views are highly desireable. We've also been in June twice. I'm sure you'll love it.

Besides, anywhere in WDW is better then being home. ;)

The Boardwalk IS awesome! With a BW view you will see Spaceship Earth as well as some of the Illuminations fireworks.

We own at VWL and we find ourselves going to the Boardwalk every time instead because we just love it there! not the best pictures but you get the idea....

Own at both AKV and BWV. BWV boardwalk view: (a) best DVC view (non-animal) that currently exists; (b) you get to walk to two theme parks, Studios and Epcot (option to instead take boat); (c) with theme parks and the Epcot resorts, you have about 20 restaurants you can walk to; Spoodles and Flying Fish at BWV are themselves very good; you also get the ESPN Club; (d) can see occasional live enterntainment on the boardwalk; (e) pool is very good. Downside: (a) you share busses with Swan/Dolphin and sometimes also with YC/BC which can make long trips to or from MK and AK.

The BW view is often a hard to book category, so enjoy it! The resort is a lot of fun with a great location between two parks. You'll have a great time.

P.S. CapeCodFam - I LOVE  your appliance icon at the bottom - he is one of our favorite commercials!!!

The Epcot area resorts are wonderful!!! In fact, I was worried about liking our stay at AKV as much this past Dec. Well...as it turned out--I didn't have a problem--I LOVE that now, too:rotfl: The convenience of being so close to Epcot and HS can't be beat! I can't say enough good things about it!

I'm sure you will love it!:thumbsup2

bw is great - especially during the summer.

if you love or even like Epcot or Studios - you will wonder why you never consider it before.

the only thing I didn't like was the bw view - felt that we were on display - now know from walking the BW myself that hardily anyone looks up - but still

the views are pretty wonderful from bw - you might get a view of BC and yc - plus the boat in the morning can be loud - so be sure to close your balcony doors at night.

OK, the Boardwalk is awesome!! And here's why. You can see Spaceship Earth, Illuminations and Wishes from the balcony of your boardwalk view room. You can walk to Epcot in 5-10 minutes and DHS in 15-20 minutes or take a leisurely ride to those parks on a Friendship boat. You will really appreciate that when you can walk/boat home after Illuminations instead of shuffling through Epcot in the middle of a big crowd, followed by a 20 minute wait for a bus to your resort. You will have lots of nice restaurants within walking distance at the BW, BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin and Epcot's World Showcase. Eating dinner in the WS works best if you have a park hopper or annual pass since you need a park ticket to get into Epcot to eat at the restaurants. You can take a stroll or ride a surrey bike around the lake and in the evening there are entertainers on the boardwalk. There is a popular piano bar (Jellyrolls) and a dance club at the far end of the boardwalk. I've never been in the dance club but Jellyrolls is very popular and is open quite late (2am, I think).

You will have lots of years to stay at AKV and as the others posted, a BW view at Boardwalk Villas is a tough reservation, so enjoy it! It's wonderful there to be so close to Epcot and DHS and the Boardwalk itself. You will have a great time, I'm sure!

Your main problem now...you will have BWV addonitus....we did after our stay there last June/July we plan on a add on there hopefully by Spring.pirate:

Ditto. Except we rent a car so that downside doesn't apply to us.

Like other posters have said, you will most likely love it. I was wondering if you put yourself on the waitlist at AKV? You have a good chance of that coming thru, since it's still 6 months away, you never know, and it can't hurt if you really want to stay there.

ooh that sounds really great. I would love to stay at the BWV with that view. Have fun.
