Hello again, thanks to all who answered my recent question about switching from the WL to the studio at the BW. We made the switch and frankly I'm jazzed about it. We've never even visited the resort before and we can't wait for October to try it out. My next question(s) concerns walking, how far a walk is it to the IG at EPCOT? Also I read that you can walk to DS, how long a walk is that? I realize there are boats to those locations but we like to walk as long as we're not to tired from a day at the parks, thanks in advance for your response.

BW is a fairly long resort. (the long hallways are legendary.) so it depends where you are in the resort.

i believe the villas are generally on the far side away from epcot, but still probably within 10 minutes or so of the epcot IG.

DS is a little farther but BW is a good resort if you want to walk it. probably 15-20 minutes or so, depending on your room location and your pace.

From the BW you can easily get to IG in under ten minutes and DS can be done in fifteen to twenty minutes.

It really depends on the end your on. I've been in rooms before where DS took 10 minutes and IG took closer to 20. Though it is a bit more common to be the other way around. In general expect between 10-20 for each, you won't be much closer but shouldn't be much farther than 20 minutes from any point.

You should be jazzed - it is an awesome resort. One of our family favorites! We stayed in the villas overlooking the quiet pool. It took us 15 minutes to walk to DHS and under 10 to walk to IG. We cut through Luna Park to get to the Boardwalk and then around the lake - cut a good amount of walking off. We do tend to take the boat back from DHS because we are tired but really you can walk much faster even when you are tired than the boat ride. Also we get off at the Swan/Dolphin and walk to the Villas from there. I'm so impatient! I am so jealous. I wish we were going to be back at the Boardwalk this October!

Hi! Great choice! We just stayed at a BWV-studio last month and it is now my favorite. We are probably going to rent points for next April! We didn't make any room requests because I had read pros and cons of various locations and just decided to wing it! We ended up with #4054. I loved the location. It was close to the elevators which I think worked out very well. We took the elevator down and it was very close to the lobby, main pool, and center area of the BW. We timed our walk to DHS one day--12 minutes from our room to the gate. We didn't time it to IG, but it was less than that. We walk a lot, so our pace might be a little quicker than average, but not rushing!
Have a great trip!

My wife, noting the looooong halls, once jokingly said, "That must be why they call it the Bored Walk."

Nothing, and I mean nothing, is worse than undertaking that long Bataan death march from your villa to the front desk on the way to the parks, and arriving at the lobby and hearing someone in your party say, "Uh oh. I forgot my (room key, camera, cell phone, map, whatever...)...hang on while I just run back to the room to get it." Yeah. Right.

Tip: request a room near an elevator.

You're welcome :smooth:

Near THE elevator. There is only one elevator bank. Multiple elevators in the bank, but only one bank.

And drop bread crumbs when you leave your villa to find your way back.

I stayed at BLT on the north side (end of the hall), it was just as far from the monorail platform as BWV's farthest room. Down the escalators, across the Contemporary lobby, over the bridge, down the hall. Kidani's halls are long also.

OR you could request to stay on lobby level. We requested to stay on the same level as the lobby as my dad has knee issues. We were on the lobby level at the far end of the BWV wing. That meant we walked out the door that was two doors down from our room and didn't go out the lobby door. We took a right out of the door and we were at the quiet pool and headed toward Luna Park and Epcot. IF we took a left we were on the path to DHS and if we took 2 lefts we were on the sidewalk to the bus.

We were alllll the way on one end, I think our room was 1123 but I might be remembering incorrectly. The walk to HS felt shorter than the walk to IG. The walk from IG to the room felt specialllly long after a full day at Epcot haha. The path to HS was almost right outside our room though! Plus it was a really pretty walk
