Boardwalk Villas

We're staying at the Boardwalk Villas for our 1st trip in October. Please tell me that we're going to LOVE it!!

We love Boardwalk. It is our favorite resort. The only think that I have heard is that small kids are sometimes afraid of the clown face at the pool (my kids are older that that isn't an issue).

At night, there are entertainers on the Boardwalk and it is fun to go out and watch them. You can also see the fireworks at Epcot from the bridge. My kids love the candy store and bakery. We always rent a bike for the 4 of us to go around the lake at least once each trip.

Thanks so much! We were "given" the Boardwalk Villas as an early Christmas present from some relatives so I really didn't have much info to go on. So I don't need to be in Epcot to see Illuminations at night?

That is true. You can get a wonderful view from the bridge next to Atlantic Dance. And as a extra bonus, from the courtyard area on the boardwalk, if you look across the lake and inbetween the Yatch Club and the Beach Club over the pool area you can watch Wishes also!

You WILL love it!! The resort is very nice, the location is fantastic and there is so much to do! The Boardwalk entertainment is awesome and I am addicted to the chocolate croissants at the Bakery!

The pool area is great..I think adults are freaked out by the clown pool way more than a kid ever was. There is also a playground adjacent to the kiddie pool adjacent to the main pool, so everything is very compact in terms of supervising kids. You can borrow a life jacket at the quiet pool for the length of your stay if your ds doesn't swim.

Walking to Epcot is a snap, and we also really like walking to DHS....let the kids burn off some steam by running and exploring all the way there. It is only about 20 min, and by the time the kids are ready to climb aboard the strollers, we are there! There are also lots of bunnies, lizards and water fowl to check out on the way. You can also stroll over to the Beach Club and check out the movies on the beach in the evening.

Access to a quick bite to eat is a bit inconvenient, but you can stock up on croissants or at the Screen Door general store on the Boardwalk.

I work there! You will love it. Super pretty and the boardwalk is hopping! The only thing that confuses guests is the whole 2 bedroom villa thing. Are you staying in one of those?

I just stayed there in Arpil in a 1 bedroom and it was great. We loved having the space! I posted pics on the BWI faq thread.

You should love it! We stayed there last year in a one-bedroom villa and really enjoyed it (having stayed at the BCV that past few trips). You shouldn't be disappointed, so get pumped!!!

Just know that some of those hallways are reallllllly Looooooooong.
It really is a fun place to stay. I have stayed there a bunch of times and I love it each time.

I stayed there last October and it was FANTASTIC. We did have the longest hallway walk ever, as our room was the farthest one towards the Dolphin on the top floor. However, the view of the canal with the boats and hotels was amazing, and so peaceful! Housekeeping was great, room service was terrific, everyone was so very nice.

uhm, KIDS????? I am freaking afraid of that clown seriously, I do not like clowns and I do feel the pool area could be a bit larger. That said, the BoardWalk is a fantastic place to stay, we love it. There is so much to do! You will love it there!

We're staying there for the first time in July, and will be in a 2 bedroom preferred view villa. What is "the whole 2 bedroom villa thing"? Is it because you are likely to get a 1 bedroom and a studio?? I am confused by that.

That's exactly what you'll get. A two-bedroom is a one-bedroom villa attached by a connecting door to a studio villa. It's actually quite nice that way.

We bought DVC at BWV sight unseen back in '03. We visited the BW area for the first time, my dh said that he would buy there any time I wanted! The next day, as we prepared to leave from the Polynesian, he gave our phone number to the DVC folks at the desk at the Polynesian. 2 months later we owned at BWV!! It's a terrific resort, great location. Just love it there.
