Boardwalk Villas - when are rooms released?

I have a waitlist for 1 night in January and was wondering if there is a point in time when Disney releases more rooms to be available for DVC ? I see there are rooms for purchase so i'm guessing at some point if those rooms aren't booked they will be released for DVC rental ?

You have it backwards. DVC released those rooms to Disney. It is how they get the cash to
Pay for things like a cruise booked on points


They generally do not automatically return then rooms to DVC but I do think DVC will sometimes take one back. However it is hit or miss. I have had some luck calling just a few days prior to arrival and I 'think' they have pulled a unit back for me. (And a few days is less then 7 days before I need the unit )

Everything is "released" eleven months out. Those villas you see to reserve for cash either don't belong to members (DVC owns them) or a DVC member has already used them to book that DCL or other Disney trip (and DVC has to pay for that trip).

Others have answered how rooms become available. The waitlist may possibly get filled when there is a cancellation. That is most likely at 31 days out. You can check online periodically especially when the 31 day point is reached also and may find your room yourself. Always possible but not guaranteed. I've had some luck with waitlists at that point. People cancel all the way up to day of, so keep up the hope. Good Luck!

I had a waitlist for one night in a studio at BCV for the night of the ToT 10 miler. We had a BW studio, but we really wanted BCV. It never came through and we booked it about four months out.
