This will be our first DVC trip not at our home resort (SSR). Any tips about Boardwalk? How is Garden View?

We are excited as it will be the first trip with our daughter Cameron to Disney. She will be two and a half. We were thinking she might be a bit young, but since we have done all the rides ourselves, this trip will be about her. So dont worry - we wont be the ones dragging a tired, cranky, crying kid around the park. If she has had enough - we go back to the resort.

What does everyone think of the Boardwalk? We are excited because we can walk to the food & wine fest. And just a quick Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We feel it will be a nice central spot!!!!

Thanks for the tips
Eric

Most of the preferred pool/garden views are of the main pool & quiet pool. However, there are some studios that face the area between the Inn and the Villas that have a partial boardwalk view. They are called "Village Green" view. They are also very close to the elevator.

Actually, this isn't the case. While you can take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, it's not quick IMHO. You have to walk all the way through Epcot (using a day off your ticket, obviously not an issue with an AP), then take the monorail, changing at the TTC. I have done it this way and it is a great way to get a monorail ride, however, I prefer taking the bus directly from the Boardwalk to the MK most of the time. But it certainly can be done if desired.

We get the AP pass, so it would be fine with us to walk through Epcot to get the monorail. Also - can you take a boat to the magic kingdom???

We've done both the bus and the walk to Epcot and then jump on the Monorail. Its not that bad...we hit a few spots in Epcot on the way and then jump on the monorail. We actually found that the time frame is about the same as the bus. Depending on when an MK bus stops by and then all the stops along the way...it takes a while either way. Enjoy yourself....with a park hopper pass it doesn't really matter that you walk through one park to get to another. My kids are 5 and 3 and both love either the walk or bus.....after all it is Disney. :thumbsup2

Yes - you can take the ferry to the MK. When the monorail gets to the TTC, instead of walking over to the MK monorail, walk down the ramp and take a right. You'll see the lake and the dock/ramp to the ferry.

The little ones seems to think the "transportation options" are just as good as the rides. I'm sure your duaghter will enjoy the monorail and the ferry - especially since you will be going at her pace and not in a hurry to get anywhere. It will take at least an hour to get from the BWV if you walk through EPCOT, take the monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the ferry.

If you want to get to the MK when it opens, you'll need to take the bus from the BWV. That will take about 15-20 minutes if you don't have to wait too long for the bus.

Best wishes -

This is our preferred route between BWV and the MK as well. We love to walk and we always have either park hoppers or APs so there is no problem going in and out of Epcot on the way to the MK. One thing to keep in mind: going from BWV to MK, you go through the International Gateway into Epcot. There is never much of a line there so it's very quick and easy. Coming back to BWV from the MK via the monorail to Epcot, you can run into long lines getting back into Epcot through the main entrance. It all depends on the time of day. If it's mid-day, you might find yourself standing in line for 10-15 minutes in the hot sun. And of course if you're coming back after Epcot closes for the day, you won't be able to cut through there to get back to BWV. So plan accordingly!

Have fun!!

Hey, that's what I had last time! It was great fun for us (adult only trip) , but it did get loud for a few hours after closing time . We were lobby level, so maybe higher up you wouldn't hear as much. When we stay with my daughter we ask for the quiet pool area.

Had one last May though it was one of the best views we have had at Disney.
