Would you choose to stay at the Boardwalk Villas in a studio (family of 4, kids are 7 and 8) or at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 1 bd, if it would cost you $1300 dollars less? This will be our 3rd trip to WDW if that matters. We stayed at OKW and Poly the previous trips.

I voted for the Boardwalk Villas because of their theme, atmosphere, walkways to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and the fact you get all those great perks when staying onsite.

If you were to chose the boardwalk, I would chose the regular room vs the studio. You get two queen beds and a daybed in the regular room vs one queen and a double sleeper sofa. The rooms in the Inn side, in my opinion are nicer and more updated that the villa side.

How important is the $1,300 to your family? Our family could take another Disney trip with that much money, so we would pick Bonnet Creek, where we have stayed several times, because we would rather take more and longer vacations.

We also want a 2 bedroom, which would cost a lot more than $1300 extra at the Boardwalk.

Both these places are excellent places to stay. With the boardwalk, you get A+ location, with Bonnet Creek, you get A- location, but a giant wad of money.

Also, it takes 5 minutes to drive from Bonnet Creek to the Boardwalk, where you can then pull out your wallet and buy $1300 worth of treats at Boardwalk Bakery to take back to your room. (That has a full-size fridge and free Internet)

So there you have it. You really can't go wrong with either choice. Have a great vacation!

We just got back today from Boardwalk and absolutely loved it! I can't tell you how happy I was with our whole experience there.

However, I want to try BC so bad and with $1,300 savings, I would choose BC!

I think it also depends on whether you are flying and renting a car or driving. I think you need a car at Bonnet Creek but not at Boardwalk. That might change your prices a little.
I stayed at BW and loved every second.

1) Unless you already have a rental car rented the save is a drop less. Take it to about 900$. You need a car at Bon Cre.

2) I still vote Bon Creek. I love BW, but having the whirlpool tub and your privacy for sleeping :) THAT to me is worth 1,300$ more. .. let alone being less $$.
I also rec. split stays. Though it prolly brings the price diff down to 500 - 600$. That is an easy win for me. BEST of both worlds. Take the 1st half park crazy enjoy the BW, maybe do a few days of DDP and Char dinners, then go over and have your space to relax, eat out at Apple bees, and fast food, enjot your lazy river, and MUCH better pools over at Bon Creek.

I am a DVC I nearly always stay 4 nights stud and 4 nights 1 bedroom, to save points and enjoy the 1 bedroom amenities. When I run out of points I will do studio at DVC followed by a 1-2 bedroom at Bon creek.. and there are only 3 in total in my Fam.

I actually chose Bonnet Creek over BWV. I have stayed at BWV and absolutely loved them. We did not have a rental car that trip so loved being able to walk to Epcot and DHS. However, it was in a 2BR. On vacation for a week I absolutely need a separate bedroom for my DH and myself to sleep in. I can't stand pretending I'm asleep to get the kids asleep and then having to be quiet for the rest of the night so the kids don't wake up.

As others have asked; will you have a rental car? If so, don't forget to factor that price in as well as $14 a day to park (unless you have AP's). Even with those added expenses I would choose Bonnet Creek. I love having the extra space and the full kitchen.

Good luck with your decision.

I'd choose Wyndham Bonnet Creek over Boardwalk too.

Lots more room at Wyndham. And really nice pools and lazy river.

They do have bus transportation from Wyndham to the parks, but we had a rental car and did not use it, so I can't really say how it is.

Wyndham feels like it's on Disney property. It's close to CBR and POP.

I would say though that there is not a lot to choose from in the food department at Wyndham. Much more of a food/restaurant choice staying at the Boardwalk.

That is really a tough choice. I also agree about the issue of trying to get a room at the Inn vs. a studio at BWV so that you do have two beds vs. the sofa bed and queen bed. We have done studios with a family of four and it worked, but no doubt about it, messing with that sofa bed is not my number one choice. On the other hand you would miss out on the kitchenette at the Inn and that is nice to have.

If you are already renting a car regardless of where you stay or if you are driving in, that to me makes Bonnet Creek much more appealing. Otherwise, even on the Bonnet Creek Lovers thread, the general consensus seems to be you need a car. So if you have to rent and also pay for parking at the parks that cuts into your savings.

B. Creek looks very nice, having that extra space and what looks like better pools would be a winner.

On the other hand, if you enjoy EMH, Magical Express, the DDP, all that will add up to possible regret if you go with BC.

Good luck with your choice, I'll be interested to see what you final decision is!

As much as I love BWV, I love my space and downtime more so I would choose the 1 bd at Bonnet Creek.

More room and more money, would not even be a question for me. Bonnet Creek :thumbsup2

Staying on property lately is over rated for the cost.

Extra magic hours are packed, Disney transportation is slow or broke down and service and housekeeping at the resorts is definitely down.

Thanks everyone for the opinions! I am leaning towards switching to BC, maybe doing a split stay. Have to run some numbers to see. We'd also have to see about getting a rental car or not. One of the things my dh and I love so much about onsite is the lack of having to drive everywhere...

WBC all the way, not a big fan of DVC studios. I never had a car until the last 2 times we went down. I think we will always drive down from now on. It is nice not to have to drive but is comes in handy, and it is a lot quicker than the bus, and we were just down Christmas week thru New Years and there was no trouble driving around. It does take a few times to figure out the best way to go, so make sure you have map of all the streets down there.

I voted for BWV but it was a tough choice for me! We usually stay off-site because we own a timeshre that we use to exchange into resorts in Orlando (usually Sheraton Vistana Resort). However, this fall we are renting DVC points to stay at BWV in a 1BR villa.

So I guess it just depends if you have the $1300 to spend. I wouldn't do it every time but it will be well worth it if you decide to splurge.

I would rent dvc points from a member and stay BW that way. Maybe even a 1 bdrm that way. Here is how we look at it. If staying off site. you either have to pay for airport transfers or rent a car for a week. Relying on another resorts transportation can be ify. So car rental for a week. Gas. Don'f forget to fill it up again upon return. $15 per day for parkinging. It all adds up. So how much are you saving now. We are eating some meals out, but breakfast and most lunches will be at our villa. Don't rule out BW just yet.

Is your price for a BWV studio based on DVC rental or renting straight from Disney? If it is not DVC then I would look into renting through DVC. I have been to Disney 15 times and stayed at BWV 5. In my opinion staying on property is best and nothing beats staying at BWV or BCV. Its all about location. You save tremendous time and really cut down on your stress by being withing walking distance to Epcot and DHS.

I voted BWV. In my opinion there is no comparison to staying on property vs off. Especially with the location of BWV...sooooo convenient. It is a totally different experience. I think it is absolutely worth the extra money. :thumbsup2
