Did the old Boardwalk Villas have daybeds? If not, do all the had a newly refurbished Boardwalk Villas have them or is it something I have to request? Also are the daybeds twin-size or are they smaller?

Dedicated studios still have the daybed, lockoffs do not. It's very small, closer to crib size mattress.

There's no way I would call that bench in the studios a 'daybed'..it's just too small. My skinny dd and I can sit together on it, but it sure isn't roomy. It's not even close to the 'daybeds' the regular deluxe resorts have. Those are true daybeds..twin-sized. But, the bench in the villas is really small...maybe 3' or so long and about 18" wide. We just store our bags on ours.

Check out this link...if it works. It shows part of the 'daybed'. You should be able to get some idea. Who knows...maybe you would want to use it as a bed...up to you.

Thanks for the information, I thought maybe it was going to be a twin-size daybed, like the deluxe resorts have. It would have been nice to be able to have 5 people in a one bedroom villa.

Unless one of the 5 was under 3 you wouldn't be allowed in a 1 bedroom at the BWV - the capacity is 4 (at least renting through Disney).

That so called daybed was only in dedicated studios, not one bedroom villas. BWV one bedroom villas still only sleep four - no sleeper chair in those rooms.

I have two children, 1 & 3, so for now I can have a one bedroom villa. Do you know what the cut off age is for the one bedroom villa, is it 3 & under, or is it under 3?

Officially, under 3. DVC reservations will allow a 5th person in a 1 bedroom regardless of age but no additional bedding or linens are provided.

I had this room several times and this is not a daybed. It is a bench with a thick pad on it. If anyone slept on this it would not be comfortable. It is not the same as the daybed in the BWI (which I've also had). This bench is not even as big as a toddler bed and very narrow.

I just booked a 1 bedroom villa at the boardwalk for August 2011. We are a family of 5, two older daughters and an 8 year old. Does the above quote mean we will be allowed to stay here but will either have to squeeze into the two beds provided or put an air-mattres on the floor for our little one? Also will we be able to add the dining plan for everyone?

If you booked through DVC, you can bring your own air mattress & linens. If you booked through Disney reservations, you should not have been able to book that room with all 5 people included on the reservation.

Thank you! I booked through RCI, they told me to call member services and when I did they said it was a 4+ room but that we couldn't get a roll away and that we would have to bring our own bedding.

I wasn't sure what that ment. I called the boardwalk directly and they said we would have no problem with us bringing an air mattres.

We've used a twin air mattress with 4 in the room so that no one would have to share the sofabed. It fit between the king bed and the balcony door.

You will only get four bath towels, so you'll have to pay for an extra towel pack.

Thanks, I guess we could bring towels from home, my oldes DD uses many bath towels!!!

I've never stayed at a villa before, is there anything else I should know? The points were a gift from DFIL for our 25th wedding anniversary!:lovestruc

Congrats - nice gift! You only get housekeeping on a limited schedule - that's the only thing I can think of that seems meaningful, if you didn't know that.

Thanks, it's an awesome gift!

Limited schedule, what does that mean exactly? I didn't think we had housekeeping at all!

Depending on how long you stay you may have a day with trash and towel service(they replace towels and remove trash) and/or for longer stays they will clean the room once.

For the one beds you will have a full kitchen and washer/dryer so I would just pay for a towel pack and bring laundry detergent from home.

Day 4 trash & towel, Day 7 full service. Check-in day is Day 1.

Not quite. Seven nights or less, day four is trash and towel service. Eight nights or more, full cleaning on day four, trash and towel on day eight. Then the cycle repeats.

We just were at OKW with four of us (we usually are just three of us). I washed towels every day, sometimes twice a day since the three guys were all running in the half and full marathon.

DVC resorts don't offer cots or rollaway beds. A DVC reservation would include an RCI reservation.
