Boardwalk: Villa vs Hotel

Hello - we are currently booked standard BWI for 8/12 - 8/20 and the price for the Villa side standard studio is exactly the same. From the room photos posted on the website (we have never stayed at Boardwalk so it's all I have to go off of. . . ) I prefer the more muted décor on the Villa side. We don't plan to be in the room much, so the kitchenette is a non issue......but if given the choice between the two where would you stay and why? There are 3 of us, myself and 2 daughters. Will it be annoying not to have 2 beds, but rather 2 pull outs if everyone wants their own sleeping surface? Do the studios have washer and dryers or only the bedroom villas...THAT might be the edge tipping issue.

I guess the thing is I adore Beach Club, and the villa rooms look somewhat beach cluby to me.....I think I am just over thinking things but I am curious to hear others thoughts?

BWV studio will have one queen bed, one double sleeper sofa and a bunk sized (smaller than twin sized) murphy bed in the room. The hotel should have two queen beds and maybe a day bed. Studios do not have a washer and dryer, only one bedroom and larger villas. You have access to a laundry room for a studio.

We've stayed in a studio on the villas side twice. I don't mind the pull out bed. I like to keep it folded up during the day, so we have more room. I feel like that's nice for afternoon breaks when you want to chill out for a little bit.
My kids (8&4) always love the murphy beds and the pics behind them.
I know you said you won't use the kitchenette, but the microwave may prove to come in handy. Also, I like to have a separate place for the snacks/breakfast food we bring. So we use the counterspace and cabinets.
Now, with a studio, you won't have a washer/dryer in your room, but you'll have access to the dvc laundry room, which is free. (Bring your own detergent or they have a vending machine).
We've never stayed on the Inn side, so I can't compare...but we've certainly enjoyed our studio stays. I really don't think either is a bad choice.

Usually a regular resort room with two queen beds is much nicer than a studio with one queen and a pullout bed. Unless you would like having the kitchenette I would keep the BWI standard room. I think the BWI standard room will have a daybed, which would give your daughters their own sleeping space.

The villa studio may feel small with the sofa bed folded out. We loved the Inn side--bathroom was nice and we don't need the kitchenette since we eat out, so it would have been wasted space for us. I also found the hallways to be less confusing and easier to get to the lobby than the villa side. But I think you'll be happy either way, honestly. Boardwalk has become our favorite and we've stayed in many resorts!

It just be perception, but I felt like the Inn side rooms were a tad bigger than the studio. I actually stayed in a studio the first 3 times I stayed at BW and was a little nervous about staying in an Inn room but ended up loving it. Close to the lobby, close to the quiet pool and about smack dab in the middle of the resort so equal distance to both Epcot and HS.

You do have access to laundry machines at BWI (not free).
I'd only stay at a BW studio over BWI room if I wanted the kitchenette, or was only going alone or with 1 other person. (Otherwise I'd prefer the 2 queens in most BWI rooms.)

I would pick BWV. We've stayed at BWI and BWV more times than I can count. It's absolutely our favorite resort, but I've found over the years, I really prefer the villas side. It's much quieter, you are closer to the DHS path and closer to the main pool area. I also like having a big coffee maker :)

Even after always requesting a "quiet room", we've had multiple noise issues at BWI - drilling noises in the middle of the night, trucks beeping as they back up in the mornings, etc. - it's gotten to the point that we will probably only book BWV in the future and not book BWI anymore.

We have stayed CL at BWI and 1bdrm Villa at BWV. The regular rooms are very nice on the Inn side, we had two queen beds with one day bed. The day bed was quite comfortable.

As far as location of the Inn side vs the Villa side, there are pro's/cons' to both sides. We do not really mind which side we are on.
