We finally decided where we were going to stay - took forever! We have decided to splurge this trip - all other trips have been at the ASMovies. We decided on splitting our stay between the Contemporary tower and the beach club - standard room. BUT when I called CRO they said BC was full as well as YC and BI. They suggested a studio room at the boardwalk villas. BC villas were also full. It was the same price as a standard room at BC and she told me it was slightly larger than the BC rooms. I went ahead and made the reservations.
Can anyone give me more info on the BWV studio? Will it work for us - two DD -ages 2 and 6? Is the BWV an appropriate substitute for the BC or YC? How is the pool at the boardwalk?
How is the room size as compared to the Cont. tower rooms? Will it seem a lot smaller or larger when we move?

To answer your questions, the rooms at the Boardwalk Villas are very much comparable to the Beach Club and Yacht Club (I think they are a little bigger in size). The only difference is the pool. In my opinion, the pool at BW is for older kids, but they do have the quiet pool. Did they offer you the option of Beach Club Villas? Then you would be able to use Storm-Along Bay.

As for room size in comparison to the Contemporary, the Contemporary has the largest rooms on property for regular Disney Guests (Shades of Green has larger rooms, but they are primarily for military).

Would it be possible to switch the days around? I've heard it suggested that with young children it's best to do Epcot before MGM, and MGM before Magic Kingdom (not sure where Animal Kingdom would come in). That way it builds to the best one (from a childs point of view). Just a thought. Enjoy your trip.

Probably someone on the Disney vacation club board could tell you better, but I think the studios have 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed. It should be fine for the kids, but I just thought I'd mention it.

MJames ---- thanks for the reply and suggestions. We visited WDW twice last year and my 6 year old's favorite park is Epcot. She loves Mk but also loves Epcot. We decided to stay at the cont first because we are attending MNSSHP our third day there and wanted to be at a monorail resort for that part of our trip. We considered staying at the cont the entire time but wanted to experience a different resort. Epcot ones seemed like the right choice since we seem to spend a lot of time there also. We love the variety of food in the WS.
Do you think BWV are Ok or should I keep trying to see if an opening comes up at BC?

My DW and I are DVC members at BWV.

I believe that a studio at BWV will work fine, as long as you know that a studio has one queen sized bed and one pull-out couch (double). The pull-out was fine for our 10 year old nephew when we took him a couple of years ago.

The nice thing about all DVC studios is the mini-kitchen. It will have a refrig, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. That gives you the option of having a meal in the room if you like or taking your leftovers back the room for a mid-night snack.

I believe the studios are larger then the rooms at all the deluxe hotels expect the Comp.

I believe you will really enjoy the BWV, but if you are interested in swimming you might want to keep trying to get in at BCV.

You will really enjoy having the ability to walk to and from both EPCOT and MGM.
