Boardwalk Villa Refurb?

We just switched our February trip from a standard room at AKL to a studio villa at BWI because we've added an extra person to the trip and could use a little extra space! Plus to BW/BC/YC area is just so beautiful.

The one thing I'm wondering about is the Boardwalk refurbishment. I think I recall reading on the DIS that the rooms were being renovated? Am I correct in remembering this?

If so, any recent photos and/or experiences would be absolutely appreciated!! We are so excited.

It is supposed to be finished in February. I had a renovated boardwalk view last month. From what I've heard, the boardwalk views are done. They are still working on the 1st and 2nd floor on the standard and pool view side.

I hope you booked BWVillas and not BWInn because they are vastly different.

I don't think you will get any extra space out of a studio at BWV vs a regular room at AKL. You will only get one queen sized bed and one double sleeper sofa in the studio. The regular room will have two queen beds.

We stayed in a renovated villa in Aug. We had a view of the S/D waterway so they should be just about done by now. When we were there they were done the wing we were in and were finishing the side by the waterslide pool. Even if the work is not completed on the other side, you would never know they were there. They were working on the next wind over from us, both inside and out and you never heard any noise from the workers outside, even when they were moving scaffolding.
