Boardwalk Villa 1bd - 2 beds?

So apparently I made a huge mistake when picking our resort, as I thought the room we booked (1bedroom at Boardwalk Villas) had 2 queen beds in the bedroom.
Turns out its 1 king.

We are traveling with an almost 3 year old, so wanted the separate bedroom so she could go to bed earlier than us.

Not wanting to spend the week sleeping on a pullout sofa with my husband.

Does anyone know if there are any 1 bedrooms with 2 queens that could be available??

I know our kiddo won't be comfortable in a crib or playpen. Do they offer any sort of cot that might work for a toddler??

Really appreciate any help or suggestions! So frustrated with myself for this mixup. Ugh

We've stayed in a 1BR Villa at BWV many times and loved it -- though they've all had the king bed in the bedroom, as you mentioned. We travel with our now 17 year old D, and she has always been the one to stay on the pull-out sofa, although many times she has just preferred to sleep on it in couch form. Would it be possible for your 3 yo to stay on the couch bed instead of you? The bedroom has a really nice jacuzzi tub and a big TV, so the only things you'd be missing would be access to the kitchenette, couch, and the washer/dryer...but those are kind of in the little space between the bedroom and the living area, so you could probably sneak in there to do laundry.

If you're set on a cot for her, I've seen on other threads where people have ordered a little "inflatable toddler travel bed" from Amazon and had it delivered to their hotel.

There are no DVC 1BRs with two real beds.

They do not offer rollaways or cots in DVC units.

I would put the child on the sofa bed in the living room and then relax in the master bedroom. I would even move the coffee pot into the master bedroom or bathroom so I could have my morning coffee without waking them up. I'm not sure about BWI but many of the one bedroom villas have a balcony for the master suite.

Is your daughter a really light sleeper? You might be able to just put her down in the sofa bed when she's tired, and you two can retire to the bedroom. Also, as mentioned above, those rooms tend to come with nice balconies which gives you guys more room to hang out while she sleeps.
When we stayed there with our 8 year old, we let him stay up as long as could muster (usually around 10 pm is when he conked out), and he just went to sleep on the sofa bed without issues. It wasn't an issue for us to quietly go out into the room to grab something from the kitchen while he snoozed. And you can enter the shared bathroom from your bedroom without disturbing them in the living room.

My daughter is a heavy sleeper, so we always put her to bed in the bedroom (she thinks it's so cool to have the king size bed to herself) and then when we are ready to go to sleep, my husband carriers her out and tucks her into the sofa bed. Not sure if this would work for you guys? I know some kiddos are really light sleepers.

We've also had nights that I just take a bottle of wine and a snack into the bedroom and relax with some TV or a bubble bath.

Like the other posters have said it's a king bed in the bedroom & the queen pull out sofa bed. We are a family of 4 & we always stay in a 1 bedroom villa (I love having the washer /drier & full fridge as well as the extra room), but I hate the bed configuration. The pull out sofa is very uncomfortable & kills your back. If I could change 1 thing about the 1 bedroom villas, it would be to have 2 queen beds instead of a king & pull out.

It really helped me out of a panic. It's our first trip with a kiddo, so I'm easily rattled with planning snafus even though I know the trip will be amazing no matter what!

Knowing that there is a TV & balcony in the room is helpful, so we will be able to just zone out at the end of the day.

Based on how much she can wear us out on a daily basis, I'm sure we won't be staying up too much later than her anyways

But a queen sized bed in the middle of the living room would just look odd. I'm guessing you don't really expect to have two beds in a master bedroom instead of one king sized bed. That would just be wrong.

If they go with that new murphy bed that folds down over the sofa it might solve your problem. That is what they appear to be doing with the SSR renovation.

I hear you, design wise that would look off. I guess I was just picturing the best of a standard hotel room at Disney (the 2 queen beds) blending with a 1 bedroom villa. Yes the murphy bed would be better than the pull out. I wonder if those would ever make their way over to WL & Boardwalk villas?

I assume you are not a DVC Owner?
If you want 2 Queen beds you have your choice of all standardDeluxe, Moderate, and with recent renovations Value Resorts to choose from.
I chose to purchase DVC, and I love my King bed in the bedroom. I would be outraged if you got your wish and they changed this.

No, the sofa bed is not good. No need to justify your moving your child into the much better king sized bed.

I wish that they even had the option of some 1 bedrooms with 2 queen beds. Not everyone that would like to stay in a one bedroom wants or is able to share a bed. The increase in cost to a 2 bedroom to get an additional bed is huge. PLUS I imagine that even some parents would like 2 queens in the bedroom in order to do like the OP had initially planned and put the child to bed in the bedroom, then retire to that same bedroom to sleep in a real bed themselves.

I agree. Those sofa beds are often quite bad! We can't sleep on them. It is part of why we don't own DVC. We need two beds and the points required for most 2 bedrooms are so high that we just stay in deluxe with CL instead.

Sorry about your mix up. Too bad that they don't offer any 2 queen options anywhere but at OKW in DVC. I hope that one of the suggestions offered above will work for you. Meanwhile, just a thought: Although you said that your toddler wouldn't be comfortable in a crib, would s/he be OK on a crib mattress on the floor? you could probably get extra bedding and pillows from housekeeping. It would likely be at least as comfortable as sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room.

DVC resorts usually don't have any cribs to give them since every villa has the pack and play. They would need to rent either a toddler bed or crib from an offsite vendor.

the pack n play really doesn't have much of a mattress for sleeping, so I guess that idea will not work! lots of other great ideas by other pp's though.
