Boardwalk View Waitlist?

We have a trip booked for the end of Sept. in a BWV studio preferred view. Just prior to the start of the F&W. Only our last day is during the F&W. We have been waitlisted for a while for a boardwalk view. How good are our chances up getting the waitlist? I have read other waitlist threads on the DIS suggesting to call once a week just to check. I have been doing just that... so far no luck. Are there any other suggestions or just wait, cross your fingers, and hope for some Pixie dust to help us... This is our first DVC booking and either way we are extremely excited. Thanks for any advice, tips, or suggestions.

Last year I was waitlisted {BWV} for 10 of my 15 days Oct 30th-Nov.14th. I booked in July. I called a few times a week, I did receive a day here and there when I called. Of the last 2 days I needed one came through in Oct. I still needed Nov. 8th. So I booked OKW as a back up. I went on the waitlist until 7 days before check in. Once I checked in I called MS everyday and checked with the front desk. Nothing ever came up. I had to check out for one day MS talked to the front desk but nothing was available they were over booked she said.

So my suggestion is to book a back up resort for the days you are missing. Or if there is another view at BWV then book it and stay on the waitlist for Boardwalk view. Tell MS to cancel the back up resort or the other BWV view as your days come available for the BW View.

I was told there are times if you have a room booked and 1 of the days you need to move to a different view sometimes they will keep you in your room without moving you. But no promises.
Be prepared to move. it is a pain. But we wanted boardwalk so we decide just to move for that 1 day.
Call as often as you can, I did and I believed it help. Other people are against calling but I needed a room and if I didn't call and get it when I did someone else would have gotten it when they called.

I hope you get it. Now I am on my way to call MS and book for Nov. and I know I will be on the waitlist again.

Hi: We are planning a bit of a family trip this fall. Of course our grand villa is a bw view, but the 2 br was a preferred view when we booked at 10 months out. We waitlisted for bw view for that, and within 2 weeks we got it. I just kept checking the member site every couple of days. Now we had to add a 1 br as well, and we were able to get 4 nights for that with a bw view and are waitlisted for the other 2. This trip will only be the second time I've gotten a boardwalk view. Hope some pixie dust will help you- good luck!

Thanks for the advice and hope. We have been on the wait list for a few months now. I check daily.. call every other week .. still no luck. Wish us luck.
