Boardwalk View question

LOL! Whenever I've had a Boardwalk view and I get out on the balcony, I feel like belting out a chorus of "Don't cry for me Argentina", just like Madonna in "Aida". So tell DH he won't be the first!

Okay THAT was very funny!

FYI I just completed yesterday my January 21-29, 2007 trip and was able to secure Boardwalk view guaranteed (1 bedroom villa) for the entire stay. Now I did do the reservation day by day at 7 mths out, but it is now fully complete and had no waitlist issues to contend with. Hope this helps. And let me just say I can't wait.......to be the QUEEN of MY Domain....... :rotfl2:
That's nice but for Sept and Jan it's likely to always be available at 7 months out. Other times can and will be more difficult or impossible. But it depends on when and the unit type.

We thought when we joined that our early October travel - a week before Food and Wine started - would make getting a SV easy. But Disney moved F&W. If they put something attractive in September and January to attract guests - well, always is a long time......

Sept and Jan are difficult times to fill for those who are tied to school calendars. Even those on year round programs or are willing to pull their kids out of school are unlikely to travel then en mass. Disney also takes those times to rehab many of the areas. I think the quieter times are safe for overall availability. But with the flood of points at places like OKW, SSR, HH and VB just looking for a temporary home, I could see even those times being difficult for certain unit types/sizes including the ones I mentioned.

My point, Dean, was that four years ago, early October was all of the above. Kids were in school, lots of areas under rehab. Then Disney extended F&W and now we call day by day for a standard view. If Disney adds an event in September (or if more schools go year round - my neighbor sends hers to a year round school, and September and January are two holiday months for them - because parents want their holiday months to fall in low travel seasons). DVC contracts are for a long time, and I'd have never guessed that our beloved early October would become popular.

Kids are in school in early December, and its one of the most popular DVC times - because of the holiday decorations, annual meetings and Mousefest. Move Mousefest to September or January and......

Maybe the case of half empty or half full but Oct was never nearly as slow as Jan and Sept. But I guess anything is possible.

Thanks for the info. Our stay is in January, so if I'm reading right, there is a chance BW view would be available. I'll make the call - doesn't hurt to try! Even if we don't get it, the pool view shots I've seen look pretty good, so not a biggie.

Well as stated January for now is not the most demanded time of year to go and that is exactly why I picked it. My kid is under 2 so no worries about school for now. Also I went the tail end of January beginning of Febuary 2 years ago and lovvvvveeedddd it. Best time of my life......and accomplised many things I had always wanted to do at WDW, low crowds equalled more time to accomplish my park attraction goals AND do more beyond the park activities and events. So for now I will go winter/early Spring (not Easter) and enjoy it while I can........

call the desk and ask to be sure
