Hi everyone. :)

A friend is very kindly renting me her points for a 10 night stay at BWV at the start of next April.

She doesn't own at BWV, so we're waiting for the 7 month mark to book.

Am I being unrealistic in hoping to get a BW view studio for the stay?

It's possible but I think the chances might be slim because it's spring break time. Also 10 nights might be a problem. You may want to have her check if any of the nights are available and possibly do a split stay. She could also waitlist for the unavailable nights. Which resort is her home resort? She could book that now and then change at 7 months.

I have never had a problem with Boardwalk view at 7 months out. Studios are also easier to get than 1 or 2 bedroom units. I have been able to get it for Feb, March, Aug, Sept and Dec. I will be back there August 14th with a Boardwalk view. However ALWAYS have a back up choice because you never know. Good Luck:thumbsup2

Thanks :)

I think I'll have Standard view as our back up (don't want the clown!!) or even BCV.

Standard view may even be harder because of the fewer points. Many owners own at BWV because they want standard view and the wonderful location. You may have to "settle" for the view that could include the clown, but if you ask for "Village Green" area that's a lovely location.

About 20% of the rooms at BWV are Standard View, about 20% are Boardwalk View and the remaining 60% are Pool/Garden View. The Standard View rooms are very popular because they are a bargain point-wise. The Boardwalk View rooms are popular because of the view. These two booking categories are the first to go. To get anything other than Pool/Garden View at 7 months out, your friend should call the day your 7-month booking window opens and hope for the best!

You should consider having her book you into her home resort now and then try to switch you to BWV at 7 months out. That way you have something booked just in case you cannot get into BWV for all 10 nights of your stay.

Like the others have said have your friend call the day your booking window opens. Also like someone else said standard view is actually harder to get than boardwalk view because of the low points to be in a great location.

Thanks everyone. :)

My friend is going to call for me on the 7 month mark. :)

I think what I'll do is gor for BW View BW, and then BCV as my 2nd choice, and then BW preferred as the third!

If only BCV had some lake front rooms! :rotfl:

BCV is also hard to get at 7 months, especially 10 day in a row. IF you really want to be at an epcot resort plan on a split stay initally and have you friend waitlist and call to try to consolidate your room to one catagory.

I'd go for the preferred view at BWV and request the courtyard in front of the board walk. No clown view and you can see some of the boardwalk as well. My favorite view at BWV and they only come in studios.

I forget the formal name for this area...maybe some other diser's could help out here.

I think this is the Village Green? as bobbiwoz said. :)

If they are only studios then I guess it gives me a better chance too! :)

Thanks everyone! Keep your fingers crossed for me! I've got a month to wait!

Yes you are right. I guess my brain is still on weekend time;) Best location at BWV IMO. It is quieter then the BW view.

:) Thank you.

Is there a good chance of getting this view though? Seems a pretty small area.

Good to know I have a good back up if we don't get BW view. :)

It's just a request, so pretty much luck of the draw. If I had to guess, there's maybe 25 or 30 studios in that area.

I'd guess more like 15. The last room is considered Boardwalk View. There are only three or four floors there, and there aren't many balconies.

I think your chances of getting that request are slim. But there are other preferred view rooms that don't overlook the clown. The croquet lawn is good or the quiet pool (I like the croquet lawn).
