I am trying to decide the best way from Boardwalk to POP in the evening.

I assume a taxi would be about $15.

I could take a bus from Boardwalk to MK (Open late that night) then MK to POP. I guess this could take an hour or more

I could take a bus from Boardwalk to DTD then DTD to POP but i gues sthat could be more like 1.5 hours.

Do my estimates sound right and does anyone have another idea or thought on whats best?

Thanks

:) Could you take the boat to DHS and catch the Pop bus there. Seems quicker to me??

If DHS is still open when you are going thats the best bet, walk to DHS and bus it to POP. If you have an annual pass you could always walk through Epcot (ride one of your favorite rides on the way...) and get the bus to POP.

Agreed :)

I dont have an annual pass and I pretty sure that by the time dinner is over, that MK will be the only open park

And you will probably be exhausted!! Take a cab! A taxi is $15-$20 just about anywhere in the world and will save you a lot of time and energy. Clint and Alesia say you need an AP to go to the Studios and then Epcot but you just have to have the hopper feature on your tkt. So if that sounds like a good idea it is doable w/o an AP.

Actually, you don't even need a ticket at all to walk to DHS and get a bus from there.

This is correct - You do not need to enter DHS to get to the buses if you walk from the Boardwalk.

That said, I totally agree - take a cab unless you plan to stop at DTD anyway.

Depends on the time. If DHS is open, or close to closing time, walk there and take the bus. It is about 15 mins to walk there from BW.
I wouldn't take the time to go to MK and then bus back to POP. I would much rather just pay the $10 (I paid $10 total to get from YC to POP a few years ago..tip included) and have it take under 10 mins.

Doesn't have to be an annual pass...it can also just be a park hopper pass.

Okay I was just recently in the parks and came into 2 situations in which I had a problem with the bus services. First I saw POTC4 on Thursday at 12:01AM. The movie got out at 2:34AM. The bus service stopped running at 2AM from DTD. Solution was to take a taxi back to AKL. Cost 22 dollars plus 3 dollar tip. The second was I went to Jellyrolls. Problem bus service stopped at 2AM. Solution was leave Jellyrolls early to catch a bus back to DTD then to AKL from the Boardwalk. I left at 12:30AM and got to AKL around 1;30AM.

So depending on when you leave the BW will determine whether to take a cab or not.

The buses from the Boardwalk go to DTD and the parks only. This is mainly true from all resorts. If you come from a resort you are heading to the parks and DTD. If you are coming from the parks they go to the resorts and to other parks and DTD. So if you are going back to a resort, take the bus from the Boardwalk to DTD the catch a connecting Bus from there. The bus usually stops off at PI first so you can catch a connecting bus there if you want or wait for the second DTD stop. If you walk to HS then yo can take a bus directly to your resort. Same if you walk through Epcot. A good rule of thumb is the buses run up to an hour after the park closes. That is what was told to me. And I was told at DTD Guest Services buses stop running at 2AM.

We have been told by many that there are resort buses leaving from BW late in the evening. This is to enable those leaving JR's a ride back to their resort. Now, it isn't a quick service...you may very well be on a bus that makes 5 or 6 stops. But, it's supposed to be running. I would be curious to know if they had stopped this.

Cab from Boardwalk to Pop would be around $10 - give or take depending on tip....also takes about 5-7 minutes. This is usually how I leave Epcot for Pop, go out International Gateway, boat or walk to BWI, then cab from there, instead of walking alllllllll the way to the front, then alllllll the way to the Pop Bus stop at Epcot (which has got to be the worst walk in the world!!!).
