Thinking of spending 5 nights at the Boardwalk next year then want to finish up with 3-4 nights at another deluxe (but not an Epcot resort). Which other deluxe would you pick and why?

I agree with the AKL, but the Poly is next in line. Haven't stayed at the GF, but we'd like to some day. We stayed at the AKL before we headed out for the Disney Cruise and loved it. We'd like to go back there again. My husband gave up smoking when I told him that the money he saved by not buying cigarettes could go to a stay at the GF. Instead we used the money to buy more DVC points.

If you're looking for a "different" resort from BWI, you couldn't get much more different. Wild animals outside your window, exotic food, a fire pit to sit around in the evenings, an amazing collection of african art, and wonderful CMs with stories to tell. We really love this place.

The Poly might be a good choice also, right on the monorail, sit on the beach and watch the fireworks/EWP at night. Tiki-lit moonlight walks. Tonga Toast and Kona Coffee for breakfast.

Or WL, another "get away from the bustle" experience, with a stunning lobby, boat ride to MK, and wonderful food at Artist Point.

Do you plan to spend much time at the MK?

If yes -- WL or Poly

If no - AKL

Why? MK is best experienced by boat or monorail. Love the Electrical Water Pageant. Fun to play on the sand beaches. Best CM's on Disney property at WL.

AKL should be experienced by Disney fans at least once. Resort is great just to hang around. Love the savannah view rooms.

My choice would be GF, then Polynesian. I have never stayed at GF, but been there many times to eat. We have friends who stay at GF every time they go. I think it's a beautiful resort, the victorian decor is so nice. We stayed at the Poly twice and loved it both times. I would stay there again but kids are older now so we are staying near the parks they enjoy most. It's nice to stay in different WDW resorts ( if you can afford it ) because they are all so unique. This year Yacht Club, but next time I want to stay at GF if we can. My least favorite was Contemporary, but it was a nice location if MK is where you want to be.

I vote that you spend your other nights at the Contemporary. Really spurge and get a room in the tower and ask for a Magic Kingdom view. The view will be tremendous and you are just a quick monorail trip away from the Magic Kingdom. You will also have the lake to the rear of the hotel for a variety of water activities too. A dinner with children at Chef Mickey's would be a treat....or an adult's only dinner at the California Grill atop of the Contemporary would be something to remember. You can watch the MK fireworks from your own balcony or on the walkway outside the California Grill. The rooms are huge at the Contemporary, the decor is a little silly in this day and age, but you have to remember that this is one of the orginal Disney World hotels....still quite a sight to see the monorail go into the Contemporary....

that is my two cents and why....have fun...

WL is my favorite resort.

We stayed at AKL this Christmas and it was a great experience. It is so amazing to look out your balcony and see a giraffe right there!

So, I vote for AKL.

You have chosen our favorite place to stay for the first part of your vacation...because we love EPCOT and the convenience in getting there by being able to walk.

Our next favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge...the resort is beautiful, great pool/bar, excellent restaurants...we checked in, stayed three days and never left the resort...we could have stayed a week. The place is relaxing...the animals off the balcony are great (if you have a savannah view...well worth the extra money). The people there are wonderful...you just have to experience it!
