I was thinking about renting a vintage car but if we're staying at the Boardwalk and getting married at the SBP, is there any real need for transportation?
We stayed at Poly & had the Horse Drawn Lindau (think thats how its spelt ) Carriage . Dh & i were separtely picked up from Poly by limo, dh was dropped off at Boardwalk where he met our Co Ordinator & Rev Kevin. I was taken to the Beach Club where i picked up the Horse drawn carriage.
Dh walked over to SBP from the boardwalk
My carraige ride was truely amazing , we went the long way round the boardwalk past Swan & Dolphin , Flying Fish, Boardwalk etc.
All the restaurant, shop staff came out to clap as we went past , i had lots of little girls waving at me, passers by videoing & photographing me. I felt like a princess, it was truely the most amazing way to arrive
SBP is such a beautiful location, im soooooo glad we picked it. We were originally gonna go with the Pavillion but we both agree that changing it to SBP was totally perfect. There are 2 decisions we made for the wedding that i think we re the best decisions we made, SBP & Randy Chapman
I stayed in a Grand Villa at the BW and DH was on the BW Inn side and we both walked. I think if you want transportation for photos like ColeV said, then you are simply getting it for photos. I personally wanted to walk to SBP. There is a certain aura about the BoardWalk and I wanted to experience that on my wedding night. Plus, the night of my wedding the BW was packed (thanks to the SEC championship game and Brian Stokes Mitchell performing Candlelight Processional that night) so it was just fun to stroll in our wedding attire. People shouted Congrats, little girls asked their mom's which princess I was, people applauded us, heck strangers watched our first look! Just fun, fun stuff.
I think you should choose what is best for you and know that it will be special whether you walk or have a vehicle! Here's a couple shots w/ my brother when we were on our way:
