Well…I cant really believe it. I waitlisted a reservation to BWV and just got notified after 4 months that it went through. Being able to now check in and this room being a studio standard view…please offer suggestions on where I should request the location of the room. Many thanks!

Well, standard view is mostly front entrance/parking lot, but if you want a short walk to DHS you can request "near tennis courts." (Those rooms also have a nice view into a slightly wooded park-like area.) Otherwise it's a matter of "close to elevators" for a short walk to your room, if that's important (BWV hallways are legendary for being long, superseded only by AKL-Kidani), and "high floor" if you want less chance of noise from the front entrance.

BWV is one of our Home Resorts and we have stayed at BWV many times. The below map shows where the Standard View rooms are in GREEN.

As @CarolynFH notes, requesting "near the tennis courts" will get you closer to the path to DHS (i.e. the bottom of the map). Asking for "near the elevator" gets you close to the lobby (i.e. the middle of the map).

The Boardwalk has 5 floors. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. We prefer higher floors because the view is more expansive. Still, no matter where you are, a "Standard View" will be either of the road that leads to the lobby or of the parking lot.

I always request top floor, across from the bus stop. This puts you about half way down the hallway. Close to elevator is more noisy with the entrance below.

Agree! These rooms have a view of the skyliner, and if your balcony isn't blocked by a tree, you can see the higher level fireworks from Harmonious. The area is convenient to the walkway to DHS and the bus stop if you can handle.stairs.

Also, if you request closer to the tennis courts (as long as you don’t need an elevator) you can walk out and have quicker access to the bus stop.

So a studio standard room - asking for #1 request a higher floor then #2 ask for a view of the bus stop is a better standard view ?

The view out the window is the same. The close to bus stop request gets you close to the corner stairwell, so down the stairs, out the corner door, across the road, and you’re at the bus stop. Shorter walk than down the hall the other way to the elevator and then across the lobby, out the front door and down the walk to the bus stop.

Standard is always my choice. Not any real views. Pretty much high floor or low floor. Close to elevator or far from elevator. Just keep in mind if you get high floor and far from elevator, that stair climb gets old fast…lol.. I now try to just ask for floor 2. We always take the stairs, so any location works for us. Keep in mind there are just a few dedicated standard studios. They are next to the ice machine. We like them because they’re quieter than a lockoff.

Does the ice machine make noise creating ice and when distributing ice?

not that I remember. This past year we’ve been trying to get the second floor or third floor to avoid the crowded elevators. So we’ve been requesting near tennis court. One trip they had to put us on the fourth floor. killer stairs. Ugh.

My suggestion would be the same (Across from bus stop). We had the famous corner 1 bedroom and it was pretty easy to get to the bus and DHS path. Getting to the lobby was a bit harder, but once you have been to Kidani, BW does not seem that big.....

Hi, does the part in green include one-bedroom standard views? That's what I'm hoping to book as soon as my 7 month window opens (tomorrow!)

Yes, along the green line will be dedicated studios and 1 BR as well as 2 BR lockoffs, which are studios connected to 1 BR.

Haven’t stayed at BWV for a long time, but the music they used to play also reminded me of the Shining!

So…as an update my wife and I were in room 1109…she has asked if I can request the same room or nearby for our week in July? Thoughts…and if I can how do i request the same room? Thanks!

You can make the request through Member Services. But it's only a request. If you ask for a specific room number, the assigned has no clue as to why you requested it. If they room is being assigned to another guest, you could end up anywhere.

You're better off making a request that fits a general description of the room location such as 1st floor facing Southeast, such as room 1109.
