Boardwalk Question

I'm not really sure where to post this, so if it needs to be moved that's fine. Our first night we will be eating at RFC in Downtown Disney then going over to the Boardwalk. I will have my own car and am very used to driving around Disney. I seem to remember someone saying there wasn't much parking in the Boardwalk area. Can anyone tell me if it would be better to just use Disney busses that night or would it be okay to drive. Thanks!

You can valet park at Boardwalk for $6 plus tip. There is some self parking, but I have heard it fills up fast.

If you can park near the bus stop at DTD, that may be the way to go. But on your first night, you may be ready to hop in your car asap and get some rest after traveling.

We have always driven over and never had a problem. However, we have always gotten there relatively early in the evening. Maybe someone else would know if the parking lot fills later on.

Lack of parking is a common complaint of those who stay at the BWI or BWV. The self-parking lot does tend to fill up by late afternoon. It empties after Illuminations.

If you drive your car, plan to use the valet parking service. The lot doesn't ever seem to be full (except for New Year's Eve, LOL).

Plus there is self parking for those not staying at the Boardwalk Villas or Boardwalk Inn. When you are turning in near Disney Studios, make a right instead of a left. After you park, cross the street and walk up the sidewalk.

Certainly! Anyone may use the valet service. The charge is $6/day plus tip.

If you happen to be a DVC member, there is no charge to valet park at any of the DVC resorts that offer the service. A tip is still appropriate, of course.
