Are the rooms facing the courtyard and porch (above Weyland Galleries) at the Boardwalk considered Boardwalk Views or Preferred Views?

Stephen11, sorry I can't answer your question directly but I actually had the same question and called member services (MS) to find out. When calling, I simply stated that I wanted a boardwalk view and poof the MS rep had me booked for our 5 nights in August in a boardwalk view 1 BR. Moral, if you have a question, call MS as they are great at taking care of your wants.

these are preferred view ( pool or garden view) BWview are on the Boardwalk. Some say maybe some courtyard are considered BWV but don't count on it. :goodvibes

We were over Wyland Gallery during President's week and had booked PV. What a pleasant surprise to have what I would consider a partial BW view.

Last May we where over the courtyard on the 3rd floor. It was an outstanding view.

I think the first 2-3 balconies (from the "outside corner" in) may be BWV, then they're preferred view. We had a split reservation last year - 3 nights BWV and 3 might PV. I asked about possibility of not having to move. We got a PV room- don't remember the number, but it was in this area. However, when explaining it to us, the CM pointed to the property map and said this room is PV, and right next door here is BWV. It was great! Not far from the elevator and great view!

Thank you all for your responses. We have booked a Preferred View Room for our daughter and her new husband and would like to request this area for them.

Thanks again!!

It seems that generally they are considered preferred view. Someone once posted that they had one of these rooms as a guarenteed BW view, which makes me suspect that they will use them as such in an emergency (one of the BW View rooms becoming inhabitable).

I had the same room as DebbieB last may. I also had a boardwalk view room booked. I liked it better than some other rooms I have had facing the boardwalk.

I suspect if it were, we'd be seeing posts from upset DVC/Disers who didn't get the view they were hoping for... :rotfl:

My Aunt and Mother book this side all the time, it is called CourtYard View or On the Green and It is a PView. They had a GREAT View of Epcot and the Fireworks. My Mother had a 1 bedroom on the 5th floor and she was able to see the Epcot Ball and Sign from her Bedroom. It was amazing. The only way to get Boardwalk View is to ask for the Boardwalk.

One thing Boardwalk has told me many times, if you know what you want it is better to ask for a room number then for a view, you will have a better chance of getting it knowing a room number. My Aunt had room 3065 that faced the Courtyard and was closer to the steps of the hotel rather then the Boardwalk. My Mother was in somewhere between room 5043 and 5049 she can't remeber for sure the number and her room was on the edge of the Boardwalk and the Courtyard right over the sign for the general store "Screen Door", I hope this helps

Actually we did have 5065 a few years back and we loved it. Right next to the elevators and a terrific view. I was not sure if this was Boardwalk or Preferred/Garden/Pool. I will request Courtyard View and hope for the best.

Thanks so much for your responses...

I was the one who got it as a Boardwalk view. It was the last room before the corner with the Boardwalk:

One big advantage was that it was about 5 doors from the elevators. I had requested top floor and it was.

p.s. - it was a dedicated 1 bedroom, room 5051.

That would be a great view for watching performers at night! Great for catching the boat, too.

Last time we stayed at the BWV we had 2 preferred studio rooms right across from each other. We were on the lobby level. One room faced the pool & the other was right over the weyland gallaries. It was a very short walk from the Lobby. it was nice to sit on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee & watch the activities start on the boardwalk & the boats starting to run back & forth.
