Boardwalk Innkeeper's Club Review

I HATE when they leave 4 towels in a room that sleeps 6. (BWI deluxe concierge)

Something kind of funny that I didn't mention: the Mousekeepers at the BWI, though stingy with toiletries, are EXTREMELY generous with wash cloths. They left us 11 wash cloths - was that a hint? :) I was rolling, because I can't imagine what room with 2 queen beds would ever need ELEVEN washcloths!

Cheers!

You know, I noticed that too!! The dern things were everywhere; I think they were breeding like rabbits.

Soirry your stay was not as magical as you hoped. I love the bWI and realize CMs have bad days, but they should not show it in front of guests. I stay here twice a year and have the best time. The majority of the cast have become very good family friends. A new addition down there is Janice. She used to work in MA with me and was part of our girls group I travel with every Spring. Janice has finally realized her dream and now works at the Innkeeper's Club.At least now I get to see her when I visit. Only 124 more days!!!!!!!!!!!

Heather: Thanks for posting the pictures. The food offerings look fabulous, I'm looking forward to that. I'm a little concerned about the negative reviews here...we're doing a split stay with the majority of it being at the BWI. I just changed my reservations from a junior suite at the YC to a garden suite at the BWI. I hope I didn't make a mistake.

The garden suites looked beautiful...I don't think you have to worry. I took a bunch of pictures of them because they were so cute! And the lounge is much nicer at BWI than it is at Yacht Club. The staff at BWI were very nice also, except that one with the split personality!

Hi Heather, we also just got back from a split stay, and the last three days were BWI standard. We got my favorite room, 4272, which has a great view of the fireworks. I have to agree with your assessment of the BWI walls, because we heard a lot of incoming cell calls and also a very heated discussion (in Spanish) that went on for HOURS next door to us. I turned up the TV volume to drown it out.

We also had a problem with someone on the fifth floor balcony above us smoking, which I reported immediately to the front desk... don't know the outcome, because we left the next morning.

As far as housekeeping, I had to leave a note requesting more shampoo. They then left five shampoos, and also one each conditioner, lotion, shower gel, and mouth wash. I pretty much knew I wouldn't get it without asking, so I asked, and was happy with the result.

After we checked out, I polled my family about which Epcot resort was their favorite. We've stayed at all three in the last 3 months. Yacht Club was the #1 favorite with only one vote for BWI.

We stayed on the top floor above the Sweet shop, on the far right when you face the building. Lovely view...but of the 4 balconies, people smoked on 2 of them, one right next to us. We didn't complain because we couldn't smell it. It lead me to believe that smokers will smoke, allowed or not, on the balconies.

We stayed at BWI Deluxe CL last year for the first time. Our stay was fabulous! IMHO their concierge staff are the best on property. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are returning again this year.

OP commented on how they only had 4 towels for a room that sleeps 6. We always put a note for mousekeeping each morning with our "requests" no matter where we are staying. Extra towels, etc. were not a problem at BWI. I figure they don't know what you want if you don't ask. CM checking us in knew of our special dietary requests, which were all taken care of.

I do a lot of traveling, both business & pleasure. I've found BWI CL one of the best experiences I've had. Can't wait to return next month. :)

Thanks so much for posting that! I have read way more positive reviews on the BWI CL than negative, which was one of the reasons we booked there. We don't require a lot from the CL staff since I do much of our own planning, so as long as they're nice when checking in it'll be fine.

OP, I'm so sorry that your stay at BWI was subpar. Good to hear you had such a wonderful experience at the GF though.

That actually wasn't us with the towel concern; we only had 2 people in our room, so 4 towels were plenty. When we stayed at the BC concierge level in January, we had tried leaving a note for Mousekeeping, requesting more toiletries. No go. They took the tip and left behind nothing! So we figured it wasn't worth it to try the notes, since we'd had such a limited success last time.

We didn't have a bad experience with the staff at all. I thought it was a bit rude to the other guests, to keep calling them "regular," as though that was less important, but no one was rude to us. Jackie was friendly, too.

Really, the worst part was the paper thin walls and the poor behavior of other guests. We've just never seen such an exhibition of poor behavior, in our years staying at a variety of WDW resorts. Thankfully we didn't have the problem with drunks pounding on our door that other people had. :scared1:

Cheers!

Okay, now I am feeling better about our BWI Garden Suite stay in 9 days. I also did most of our planning and all of our ADR's but I am hoping for happy CMs. The BC CMs were so great to us on our last stay. We have never asked for anything much but the kids have enjoyed the personal interaction/conversations. We always felt like we came "home" after a day out in the parks to smiling faces.:goodvibes

Is bottled water available to grab in the lounge?

I love the BWI club. Jackie and Lorenzo and pete are so great. I am staying their in Sept and spoke with Jackie the other day it was so nice to chat with her. I am so happy the GF part of your trip was good. I was worried you were gonna home and be blazing.

Thanks for your review. I wasn't thrilled with it myself...one of the staff was rude...we had walked over from Yacht Club and entered Boardwalk through the back so we asked a bellmen where to go to check in at club level. Two bellmen brought us up, which was very nice, and they entertained us the whole time. When we got to the club desk, the CM said "a call would have been nice" right in front of us. He was not very friendly to us either. It left a bad taste...And the key machine was down, so we couldn't get our keys at all...we went down to the lobby and were about to walk back to Yacht Club (it was early still) and my husband decided to talk to the manager. She actually was expecting us, I think the club CM knew he didn't treat us well. She had given us a Boardwalk view (not booked) with a King bed. Later in the day when we went back over to get our key, the same CM was still there, and he was like a changed man...smiley. Said Happy Anniversary, and "I" upgraded you! And just wait, there will be more surprises during your stay! Well, I don't know what they were because we never saw anything.

Our room was great, no noise, great view, so I am so sorry you had to experience that. We had one of the three rooms not past the club level, there is a little alcove before you get to the desk area that is still club level. Mousekeeping was very good also, no problems. Although they did not replace some of the toiletries. Maybe they are trying to conserve:confused3

We weren't thrilled with the rooms either, hardly any outlets...and our arm chair had stains on it. We enjoyed the Yacht Club concierge much more although that has its issues too (what is with the view of the parking lot in the lounge???). But we had a King bed there too, and they gave us chocolate covered strawberries and a signed pic of Mickey and Minnie, and two roses with anniversary buttons. And Mouskeeping left us really cute special anniversary towel animals.

we had one these in Feb a king room with a direct view of the boardwalk
It was very nice. I found the food to be ok, but the staff was amazing. I was very happy with my stay overall.

When we were there, they didn't have the small bottles of water; instead, they had the big glass bottles of Evian. However, when we got there, Lorenzo gave us two of these large bottles of water to take to our room! We saw other families coming back from the parks and asking for bottles, then bringing them back to their rooms. But they're not the light, plastic, grab & go bottles of water.

Cheers!

That was me with the towel issue - 4 in a room that sleeps 6....I edited my previous post to include that we DID leave notes (because another poster came up with the idea of "asking for what you need" ) with the tip and the notes were not given any attention - neither were phone calls for that matter, lol. I think our housekeepers at BWI did not read English, really, and we had some weird problems because of that. We would always have to deal with the housekeeping manager in the evenings upon return from the parks. Oh, on our last day due to all the problems we had encountered she told us the executive housekeeper would call us at home.....still waiting.:rotfl:

Love the BWI. :upsidedow It's pretty.(felt the need to say something nice)

I like how they offer the large glass bottles of water. We alawys take on of them and a few sodas back to the room and leave them in the fridge. That way when I get back to the room and the lounge is closed I can have a cold drink.
