Boardwalk Inn

No.

Current language on Disney website: "While a reopening date was previously shared for Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, it will remain closed until further notice, as the reopening timeline continues to be reevaluated. "

Does anyone know if they are renovating any of the BWI rooms? Surprised that they have not provided any updates or ETA at this point. I know they had the water damage on the DWC side. If anyone has any thoughts or info please share. Thanks

No room renovations have been announced or observed at this point. Although I sure wish they would during this downtime! (Sorry BWI fans)

Once CR is done, that leaves GF and BWI as the only deluxes to have not had a recent renovation (could maybe throw BC in there too but their last renovation wasn’t all that long ago, it just wasn’t in Disney’s current room “style”.

Time for Flying Fish to reopen. We have been on three trips in the past year and really miss it. We will be there again in July. Hopefully it will open with the Inn side.
I want to know what's going to happen with the ESPN Club.

I read a rumor that its interior has been cleared out and that, per the rumor, Big River Grille was going to move over there eventually.

We ate at Big River Grille for dinner on a Wednesday, and they were turning people away.

I'm debating doing the same. Can you tell me what you like better about BWI?
We like them both, but my DH really likes the theming better. We also like the pool a little better. We like stormalong bay but sometimes it is a little overwhelming and we like the BWI pool slide a lot more.

Boardwalk Bakery is one of our favorite QS locations in that area and we like the nightlife on the boardwalk. I'm not sure when the nightlife is returning though so we are not holding out hope for that.

I also think the walk to HS is better.

If we ending up staying at YC, we would still love it, but since BWI is reopening and we haven't stayed lately, we are pretty excited to go back!

Thanks for the feedback. I was concerned about not having a real qs location. The pool at YC is a plus and a minus to me lol. My kids are big so they can go in alone but it is always so packed. We stayed BC once and I loved the Boardwalk at night. I'm hoping it picks up a bit. My trip is in August and I can't seem to get it together with a resort.

Based on what you wrote, it seems like you have stayed at the Y&BC before.

I like trying something different. If you have never stayed at BWI before, then I suggest you give it a try.

The only thing you would be giving up is Stormalong Bay. We were there in November and there were lines to get in then. Word is it has only gotten more crowded since.

I know. Sometimes it is so hard to pick. When we are set on the EP area, we don't feel we can go wrong with any of the three. If there is something we like at one, we just walk over to experience it (except the pool lol). That's what makes this area so great!

We are doing a split stay, so we would really be happy at any of them. Then we will move over to the MK area resort for the second part. Good luck deciding.

We are staying in a water view at YC this September. I’ve changed our reservation to several different resorts and settled on YC knowing BWI wasn’t an option. I’ve always wanted to stay at BWI. I would love to have a room right on the boardwalk. I debated switching myself but I love the view from YC looking at BWI at night.

Yes, we stayed BC once. We actually stayed CL and didn't care for it. We had bad service in the lounge and it soured us from the BC. We liked the location though, so convenient. I loved walking over to Epcot for dinner or a quick ride in the evenings. I am concerned about the pool lines.

I originally threw out the idea of a split stay and my husband looked like he was going to kill me lol. We recently added universal to the end so we only have 5 nights now.

The pool lines at Stormalong Bay have been very long.

My 16yo just told me he really wants Stormalong Bay 🙄 I just told him about the 2 hour wait. I may just pick whoever has a better discount if one comes out lol. I think I prefer BWI and my kids prefer YC. My husband doesn't love Disney so he doesn't care, as long as he can golf one day he will be fine.

If I were debating between the two, I'd stick with YC. Why? Handheld showerhead and rainfall showerhead. BW only has the wall mounted regular one. (Yes, the Poly studio turned me into a hotel shower snob. No rainfall/handheld combo at a Disney resort, no go.)

Thanks for the opinion. I've never based my hotel opinion on a show 😆🤣 I did look at the rooms online and the YC looks so clean and neat.
