Does anyone know if they are renovating any of the BWI rooms? Surprised that they have not provided any updates or ETA at this point. I know they had the water damage on the DWC side. If anyone has any thoughts or info please share. Thanks
They announced today that it will Re-open on July 2ndAny news when the Boardwalk Inn will open?
I want to know what's going to happen with the ESPN Club.Time for Flying Fish to reopen. We have been on three trips in the past year and really miss it. We will be there again in July. Hopefully it will open with the Inn side.
I moved my YC stay to BWI today. So happy!I was so excited and pleasantly surprised when I was randomly checking availability if we moved our date and saw Boardwalk Inn was listed!!!! Yipeeeeeeee!!!!!
I'm debating doing the same. Can you tell me what you like better about BWI?I moved my YC stay to BWI today. So happy!
We like them both, but my DH really likes the theming better. We also like the pool a little better. We like stormalong bay but sometimes it is a little overwhelming and we like the BWI pool slide a lot more.I'm debating doing the same. Can you tell me what you like better about BWI?
Thanks for the feedback. I was concerned about not having a real qs location. The pool at YC is a plus and a minus to me lol. My kids are big so they can go in alone but it is always so packed. We stayed BC once and I loved the Boardwalk at night. I'm hoping it picks up a bit. Boardwalk Bakery is one of our favorite QS locations in that area and we like the nightlife on the boardwalk. I'm not sure when the nightlife is returning though so we are not holding out hope for that.
I also think the walk to HS is better.
If we ending up staying at YC, we would still love it, but since BWI is reopening and we haven't stayed lately, we are pretty excited to go back!
Based on what you wrote, it seems like you have stayed at the Y&BC before. Thanks for the feedback. I was concerned about not having a real qs location. The pool at YC is a plus and a minus to me lol. I know. Sometimes it is so hard to pick. When we are set on the EP area, we don't feel we can go wrong with any of the three. If there is something we like at one, we just walk over to experience it (except the pool lol). That's what makes this area so great! Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we stayed BC once. We actually stayed CL and didn't care for it. We had bad service in the lounge and it soured us from the BC. We liked the location though, so convenient. I loved walking over to Epcot for dinner or a quick ride in the evenings. I am concerned about the pool lines.Based on what you wrote, it seems like you have stayed at the Y&BC before.
I like trying something different. If you have never stayed at BWI before, then I suggest you give it a try.
The only thing you would be giving up is Stormalong Bay. We were there in November and there were lines to get in then. Word is it has only gotten more crowded since.
I originally threw out the idea of a split stay and my husband looked like he was going to kill me lol. We recently added universal to the end so we only have 5 nights now.I know. We are doing a split stay, so we would really be happy at any of them. Then we will move over to the MK area resort for the second part. Good luck deciding.
The pool lines at Stormalong Bay have been very long.Yes, we stayed BC once. We actually stayed CL and didn't care for it. We had bad service in the lounge and it soured us from the BC. My 16yo just told me he really wants Stormalong BayThe pool lines at Stormalong Bay have been very long.
Thanks for the opinion. I've never based my hotel opinion on a showIf I were debating between the two, I'd stick with YC. Why? Handheld showerhead and rainfall showerhead. BW only has the wall mounted regular one. (Yes, the Poly studio turned me into a hotel shower snob. No rainfall/handheld combo at a Disney resort, no go.)
