My DH, DD, eight months old, and I will be at the Boardwalk Inn in six days! Any suggestions for all of us?

We are really looking forward to the pool! Our DD loves the bath, so we hope she will enjoy the pool water as much as we do!

If you have any experiences, please tell me about them! Good rooms, good food and anything else I may not think of?:smooth:

Thanks for any answers in advance!

Do you have standard view booked? If you do, I would put in a request for upper floor, garden view (garden view is considered part of standard, the other view category is water view). Some of the garden view upper floor rooms even have views of Epcot. I didn't put any requests in other than non-smoking when we stayed there for 1 night last December and we ended up next to the walkway to the bus stop. I didn't complain because we were moving in the morning to Boardwalk Villas for 6 nights.

You will love the Boardwalk! We love stopping at the bakery or the ice cream shop at night before we go in. The atmosphere is really special at night on the Boardwalk.

Hope the pool is warm for you! (I bet it will be.) There's also a very small children's pool if you need to start there to get your daughter into the swim, so to speak.

Don't forget to hit the BoardWalk Bakery. We like to walk down there for breakfast from time to time when we're at the BW. We also like to eat outdoors at the Big River Grille and Brewery. That might be really nice with a baby, lots to keep her interested.

Sorry that all my suggestions center around food. Guess you know how I plan my vacations!

Have a great time.

Halsmommy- I brought my DD there when she was 8 mos...she LOVED it. Lost my 4 yr DS while we were on the boardwalk, (he's 10 now, she is 7.) Everything turned out great though...if your gonna lose a kid DW is the place to do it!!!LOL Only can joke about it now cuz it 6yrs later, and everything turned out ok.

How do I go about requesting a view? Do I do it when I check in? Or do I fax it? If I am to fax, how do you know where to fax it?

I have never requested anything, I always just get what I am given. I would like a nice view with a balcony so we can hang outside while our DD falls asleep. If we stay in the room with her...she'll smile and giggle at us and never fall asleep!

We loved our stay at the Boardwalk!

We rented a surry bike and road around the Boardwalk one evening....that was SO much fun! (but our kids are MUCH bigger and MUCH MUCH heavier than an 8 m.o. .....it was hard work pedaling with them!:p )

There is lots of *strolling* entertainment on the Boardwalk at night as well.....musicans, magicians, and the like. The sword-swallower mesmerized my kids (for the life of me I can't think of his name right now!)

Have a GREAT time there! :p

I agree that you will love the Boardwalk. Be sure to ask for a quiet room since you have a baby. Definitely not a parking lot side if you can help it. We had a garden view room once that was on the ground floor. It was beautiful and quiet there. You can eat at the Boardwalk Bakery, Cape May Cafe, Beaches and Cream and Hannah's (the poolside cafe by the BC. We love the view all around the Boardwalk. I think it is one of the prettiest sights in all of WDW. The walkway to Epcot is just perfect. Have a wonderful time. Don't forget the stroller!

You can request a room by calling CRO and having them put it on your reservation. (Always list most important requests first -- 1)Non-Smoking 2)With balcony 3)Quiet . Then you can list more specifics if you wish. I have always found that if you are general in your requests -- I want a garden view, for instance, instead of saying I want room 2002 -- that they are more able to comply.

You can also call the resort directly four days (I think) before your arrival. You don't need to call both CRO and the resort because the requests are treated similarly. There are also FAX numbers, but I've never tried that. (I've gone through both CRO and the individual resorts. We're DVC now, so it's different. We did stay at AKL during a recent visit, though, and I called my requests in to CRO. I asked for 1)Non-smoking 2)Bunk beds (at AKL that is possible, and my DS age 8 was dying for it) 3)a specific area (like garden view). I got every one of my requests, and we were checking in on New Year's (one of the busiest times).

Good luck. Every room on the BoardWalk is a wonderful place to be.

Julie :)

I think your DD will love the primary colors and water fountain elephants at the Luna Park pool!

It is a great resort and a nice choice with a baby because you and DH can enjoy the free entertainers on the BW and be just a few min. from your room when the baby needs to go to bed or be changed!

We had a "water view" but went in value season so we could afford the additional $$. Don't worry about BW noise, when you close the balcony doors it is very quiet. We had room 5269 (I think) it was in the area above the Bellview Lounge and the back of the FF resturant. Next trip we are requesting an upper floor, epcot view standard room which might be nice for your purposes too!

Have a great trip. :D

The room we stayed in, couple years ago, was quite beautiful. It was our first time in a deluxe and we enjoyed it. I suggest to go out at night when most of the activity is going on and walk around the BW, SD, YC/BC area. The lights are nice and picture taking can be fun (the Boardwalk sign at the entrance is all lit up). The walkway from BW area to MGM is also nice and recommended, it's a nice little stroll. :D
