Boardwalk Inn.. ease my mind

We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn in early December for the first time and we are excited to check it out, but we are just a teeny bit nervous about the fact that there isn't a restaurant / place to grab a drink in the hotel itself.
Is that even an issue? We are used to being able to run down to the lobby/ first floor to buy a diet coke if we get a hankering late at night...

Depends on what you mean by late. As I recall the general store on the Boardwalk is open until 11pm. And there are the vending machines on each floor.

Yes you do have to go outside to get to the general store but there is a covered walkway that will get you there. We never found this to be a problem.

Boardwalk Bakery was always open when we wanted to refill our mugs. The food there was awful, though.

I've always loved their sweets. I think I may have had a sandwich once, it was OK.

You can run down to the lobby for a drink late at night! The Belle Vue lounge is open until midnight and refills mugs in addition to operating as a bar. We love refilling mugs there in the morning and at night - really easy and usually no wait (coffee is self-serve, bartenders provide the soda refills.) It's right next to the elevators to the rooms, so it couldn't be more convenient on the way out in the morning and on the way back in the evening. We've stayed at all the deluxe resorts, all the mods except cabins and all the values except movies, and I'd rank the Belle Vue lounge as my very favorite place to refill mugs/grab a quick drink!

I've always loved their sweets. I think I may have had a sandwich once, it was OK.

I found it to be a pretty filling quick service credit if you have food plan, with a much better dessert! I know the sandwich choices are limited tho
