I think we have finally decided what we want to do for next year's vacation. We are going in early August for 7 nights and it looks like the consensus was to try for Boardwalk. DH and I have stayed there in a studio, and are staying in a 1 BR this November so we will have a better feel for what it will be like after that stay. My 2 older boys also stayed there for a couple nights in a studio this summer when we sent them down early for our family vacation. I am at 11 months now, but don't have enough Boardwalk points to book. I am planning on booking us at OKW for the trip for now and then switching over at 7 months. Is August a hard month to get at 7 months? I'm thinking we should be ok - we were able to get in for Food & Wine this year at 7 months (or less), so surely we should be ok for early August???? :confused3 Is there any advantage to booking 2 of the nights at Boardwalk now (I have 100 points available - 50 2010 and 50 2011 - August UY)? I mean, just because I book 2 nights doesn't mean the other 5 would be available - and we do not want to switch resorts. (Don't need to hear the stories about how easy that is to do - we won't do it;))

Also at Boardwalk do any of the 2nd bedrooms have 2 beds, or are they all one bed and a pull-out? If there are any 2 beds, are they in the dedicated 2BR only - or does BW have dedicated 2BR units?

New member - but I am pretty sure BWV has no dedicated 2 bdrms and none of them have 2 queen beds. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think if you call right at the 7 month mark, you will be OK. :wizard:

You are not wrong. All 2BR at BWV are lock-offs with a bed & sofa bed in second bedroom.

Ok - I thought that at least the majority of the rooms would be that way. Since Boardwalk was one of the older DVCs I thought maybe there were some dedicated rooms before they realized how much more flexibility they have by making them all lock-offs. Oh well - I will be in the master bedroom so it doesn't affect me personally - it's my kids who have to argue over who gets the "real" bed. :thumbsup2

Boardwalk is not typically "hard" to get in early August. We were able to book it well within the 7 month window when I modified our stay. We got a 1 bedroom standard view. Good luck.

Iam interested in this too!...Hoping to try for a boardwalk view studio at 7 months for mid July or early August next year.

Should I be OK??

Most times getting a Boardwalk view will be difficult at 7 months. Get a preferred view and wait listing might be your best bet.

Standard view and preferred boardwalk view can be difficult to get at 7 months out many times of year, August included, but not necessarily impossible. Preferred pool and garden view should be readily available as long as you call exactly 7 months out.

We have a studio booked for early Aug. 2011 at AKV-Kidani and want to switch it at the 7 month mark. It is for 4 nights before our cruise on the Dream and we would like to stay at a Boardwalk resort. Is there a better chance of getting BC or BW? (Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread, just figured it was along the same line.)

We will probably try for a standard view - just to save points. I don't know that I would even want a Boardwalk view :confused3 We stayed in a studio that overlooked the Green (is that what they call it??) last fall, we have a 1BR with Garden/Pool view this November, so we'll see how/where that is. A view has never really meant much to us because we are so rarely in the room.

I think Standard view at 7 months could be hard to get. I have tried twice before and it was not available for a two bedroom. I would call at 9 Am exactly when you can start calling.
