Well, I am going to try and book a Boardwalk GV in a few weeks and just wondered if I should request a 1 Floor or 2 Floor GV? I know these are simply requests and I will be really happy just to be able to book the BWV GV but it doesn't hurt to ask. Does either of the 2 seem bigger than the other? Are the locations of one vs. the other any better? I have seen the GV set up at SSR and it has 2 Floors and I understand that 2 Floor BWV GVs are pretty much the same set up so can anyone compare that to a 1 Floor GV for me? The 1 floor set up looks a little bit bigger on the floor plan in the guidebook, but floorplans cans can be deceiving? Thanks for any information you can give! Wish me luck on actually getting the GV.

I would definitely request the one story GV as it is considerably bigger in the great room area with alot more balconies facing the boardwalk. Also in the two story version, the master bath cannot be accessed from inside the master bedroom which isn't as private. You also lose the large laundry room off the master bedroom in the two story version. I believe you get a setup siimilar to two bedroom type. The upstairs bedrooms have either a loft or a balcony but not both.

Thank you chainkid, that is just the type of information I was looking for!

I have never seen either, so take what I say with a grain of salt... but, doesn't the two floor GV seem like it would be more "grand"? Even if it has less square footage, it just seems like looking up at the second floor balcony rail would make for an impressive sight.

I have read here that there are only 7 GV's at the BWV. Does anyone know how many are 1 floor and how many are 2 floor? We are staying in one this November and am now wondering about it.

I read in a previous thread, that there are 2 2floor GV and 5 1 floor GV.

We definitely prefer the one floor GV. We have stayed in the one floor about 6 times now, and this last trip we requested the two floor, just to try it out. The one floor seemed much larger. While it was a beautiful room, There seemed to be a lot of wasted space in the two floor. The Washer/dryer was upstairs in the hallway, while the one floor had a whole seperate very large laundry room with a sink and counters for folding.
The living room in the two floor seemed to close to the dining room table. In the mornings, we usually have guests stop by, have coffee etc... at the main table. There is plenty of room, to not disturb the teenager sleeping on the pullout in the living room. While with the two floor, it seemed too close. Don't get me wrong, the two floor was nice, but we just love the one floor.
The one floor had two entrances to the room. One main double door entrance, with a seperate door down the hall where the two studio rooms were. This was nice if you had any late night arrivals from Jelly Rolls, and noone would be disturbed. I could be wrong, but it seemed with the one floor, you had the whole floor on that side of the building. We usually get about 4 to five rooms for friends, and all meet up at the GV at night, or in the morning before hitting the parks. One night we had at least 30 or so people on the balconies enjoying the fireworks. When we had about 20 people over for chef cooked dinner this past trip in a two floor, it seemed a little cramped.
I think you'll like the two floor, but love the one floor. Good luck.

We stayed in the one-story GV last week, room 3037. It was beautiful! PM me and I can email you pictures (i'm not sure how to post pics).

I would say the two story is not as grand a look as the two story at SSR and neither is as impressive as the one story at BW. I prefer the larger more open feel when we have a gang of people...the two story would be alittle cramped in my opinion. By alot of people I mean 30 which is the size of our group .

Wow and people complain about 5 in a studio;) .

Thanks for the info. I never requested whether I wanted a 1 or 2 story but may call back now and put in a request for the 1 story.

Well, there will only be 6 of us in our Grand Villa so we will have plently of room. We have stayed in a 2 bedroom before when my parents came and were a bit cramped so we wanted to try the Grand Villa next time!
