Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

Teeeny update!

We decided we are going to keep the sparkly cake with the castle, even if the colour doesn't match. I just love that cake, and have to have it! So, we will just have the "wishes" way of doing it (at the reception instead of the ceremony) which works better for me anyway! We are starting to narrow down our ADR's, since we get to book next friday (when it goes back to 180). We decided to get rid of both Crystal Palace and Ohana, and go to the late show of Hoop De Doo. A lot of our friends really wanted to do that, so we are doing it on their last night there!!

I am in the process of trying to book our flights! Since the Canadian dollar keeps rising, I might wait a week or two, in hope it reaches parity. The best deal I have found so far is about $400 round trip for 2 from Buffalo, and includes 2 checked bags each. I think that is a pretty good price, so I'll probably keep my eye on that one!

I showed my MOH the bouquet Mandy posted, and she was amazed, which just confirmed how amazing it is (thanks Mandy:flower3:) We decided that I should get all our bouquets using that pic, but ask for a mix of white, pink and blue lavender, and have a champagne ribbon around the stems. They will all be the same, but mine will be bigger!!!!!!!!! Hey, it is my day!!! So now I just need to figure out decor before my floral appointment...but I have a month!

Totally not wedding related, but I think I might be snow white for halloween. I am thinking of dyeing my hair back to natural (I was looking though pictures, and my hair hasn't been my natural colour in sooo long) so I want to be able to play up my dark hair before I dye it...so snow white it is! I am not going to buy a costume...I think I can come up with something on my own! I'll see what I can create......

Yay for sparkly cake and lavender bouquets!! They are going to smell so pretty. And the smell of lavender is known to be calming...what better smell to have on your wedding day!!

We are getting ready for ADR's on the 27th too!!!:cool1:

Oh and Snow White is my fav!! When I was a CM people used to tell me I looked like her. I even auditioned to be a princess but was too tall :(

Yay! I'm glad you choose your cake, its so pretty.

You need to post all your ADR choices when you make them, I am curious

I think the flowers are a perfect choice, they will look so lovely and fit well with the setting.

That is now three snow whites on the Dis boards! hahaha I am being snow white as well and so is someone else (can't remember who right this sec) I wanna see pictures after and i'll show mine!

I think princesses should be tall!!! I felt so awkward that I was taller all the characters :lmao: And I totally had the ADR date written down for the 29th....I'm glad that is cleared up!

Thanks:goodvibes I'll post the one's we are going to make at the end of this post...and next week I will see if we get them!

BTW- I am doing a total el cheapo snow white!! I am going to find a cheap yellow skirt (or white and dye it), a blue tank top, and maybe some white puffy sleeves...and I have a red belt to put around it, and I will buy some red ribbon for a headband....we will see how it turns out (I'm not expecting much) Oh, and I am trying to convince df to be a dwarf :lmao:

I'm glad you'll get your cake! And YEE HAW for the hoop de doo review!
Ohhh, I totally need to bring a cowboy hat!!

Okay, the ADR's we will make are as follows:

Tuesday - Raglan Road (group dinner)
Wednesday - Biergarten (group lunch)
Friday - San Angel (first married dinner):lovestruc
Saturday - Hoop de doo (the late one, since our group will totally take advantage of bottomless booze)
Sunday - Tusker House lunch
Monday - Sunset Safari (which includes Jiko)
Wednesday - Kona dinner (last night)

So we don't have a lot, but we decided we would rather just be flexible and be able to do whatever we want. There is decent counter service there, and I find I eat healthier that way. Hopefully we get all our ressies, but I don't think it will be too bad....most of the times we are aiming for arn't popular, and we didn't pick a lot of the most popular restaurants.

WE BOOKED OUR FLIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I am so excited!!!! We ended up paying $60 more than I budgeted for, but at least it includes 2 bags per person! And we got direct flights both ways! We will be in Orlando by lunch time on the way down, but on the way home unfortunately we have to leave Florida at 9 am:scared1:

Anyway, I am just really excited, everything seems to just be rolling along now!!! Now I just need to really kick start my weightloss!

YAY!!!! You booked them!! I can't wait until we can book our flight and hotel, thats when it seems real!

Your wedding is going to be here before you know it!

I'm trying to push through all my school work and research, so that I can be done soon and start applying for full time jobs! I am hoping to start one early in the new year, and if I do, I will be throwing all of my first cheques into more DFTW upgrades :lmao:

lol, totally agree and also blame the disboards for my wedding budget increasing! Half the stuff I never even knew about but then I see a pic and I have to have it...I'm even considering the carriage now!

Yay for doing a shoot at AK, I have seen another bride's pics there and they were really great! Have you seen any of the photojournalistic pic? I would ask to see some first, but since I generally like candids better than posed shots, I agree that it seems like a good deal for more pictures.

I think I would also do the disc. I know it stinks to have to give up all the albums and then pay extra for the disc, but at least then you can do whatever you want with the pics.

I was at the same point. Can I join your club?

I would love it if you joined by club:rotfl: I know it is prob crazy to spend this much and not do a wishes, but I like that I have a fall back option if need be!

Thanks for your opinions!! I asked to see the photojournalistic pics, and I was told that basically all of the ones on the DPS website were taken that way (and they do look like that). And yes, giving up the album stinks, but I do occasionally scrapbook so I want digital copies, plus I wanna post all my pics on facebook and make everyone I grew up with jealous :rotfl:

Just going back to the photography thing with DPS - I would have figured you would come under the international brides section, which means the CD of digital images were free? I know they are for me, but I spose I'm a little further away then Canada... :confused3

I can't believe your flights are booked! I've been reading along with your PJ almost the whole way through, but didn't realise that you were this close!! :rotfl:

I have been thinking about that too.....if they say that international brides get digital copies, than Canadians should be included :confused3 Especially since I would probably have to pay duty on any large items (like albums) that are sent. I'm going to look into it!

Lol, I totally know what you mean, you always have to consider being able to post them on FB! For our e-pics we're waiting to get the cd with our wedding pics, but Nathan said he would send me a few low-res files for Save the dates, and one I specifically picked for my FB profile! Sorry DF! :rotfl:

Okay, I'm totally going to be an enabler here...I absolutely love the Roots, and if you can make it work I think it's totally worth it :goodvibes. I know they are a lot more expensive than Randy or Misty, but I think everything they do is amazing, and they are also the nicest people on top of it. Sometimes I do think, yeah I could have saved $ if I booked someone else, but I'd rather pay more and know that I'll be happy with the pics and I have never seen a pic of theirs that I didn't think was awesome. Even Carrie's pic of waffles, I was like, damn those are some good looking waffles!. I know a few people that weren't so happy with their wedding pics and I think that is such a shame. :sad2:

You could always do a "Just Married" session with them or a Trash the Dress shoot which would cost a lot less than a full package. :thumbsup2

Did you know there is a Canadian & Australian section on the DIS under Global Neighbours?

Did you know there is a Canadian & Australian section on the DIS under Global Neighbours?

Yes, I did! That is where I got the idea last year of flying out of the US, and opening a $US account. Generally, the discussion is pretty boring though :rotfl:
