Hi, there!

I posted this over on the Resorts Board, but I thought it might be helpful to those CBers who don't check that board out --but who travel quite a bit.

I don't want to creep anyone out, but I really want people to be aware of this problem so that what happened to me doesn't happen to them!

Take care!

Boardwalk Bedbugs

Oh my!

Two years ago while my sister and her family were vacationing, they were staying either at WL or AKL (I forget which on for sure). They had a run-a-round with getting a room while checking in, and when they finally got their room, they had a problem with them delivering their luggage. When they finally had everything straightened around, my nephew laid across the bed and found a tooth under the pillow.  My sister immediately contacted housekeeping. The *supervisor* came up, and she told her she herself cleaned that room, and personally changed everything ~ and that either my niece or nephew must have put the tooth under the pillow.  Umm, hello ma'am........neither child was missing any teeth!! They didn't want to have to switch rooms after all the commotion they had to endure already, but did have housekeeping change all the bedding in their presence! After they got home, my sister did write a letter explaining what happened because the more she thought about it, the more mad she got. She also just wanted them to be aware of the housekeeping problems. They did send her a letter of apology and park tickets!

As several DISers mentioned on the Resorts Board, apparently there is a huge outbreak of bedbugs--especially along the East coast. This has nothing to do with cleanliness--even high class hotels are having a problem. We all must be vigilant when we check into a hotel. If we suspect a problem, alert Housekeeping ASAP!!! . I feel itchy too!! UGH!!
