Hi all,

We have never stayed in the Epcot area, but we are staying at the Swan in March. I'm thinking about different breakfast options. I know about Gullivers' Grill in Swan, and Fresh and Tubbis in Dolphin. How about the Boardwalk? What's there for breakfast?

Thanks!

We had breakfast at the BW Bakery twice during our TG week stay. It was YUMMY! Lots of pastries (I especially like the chocolate-covered eclairs) but also a more traditional option such as breakfast burrito and fruit. We sat outside on the boardwalk and had breakfast before going into the park which was a nice start to the day for us.

Breakfast on the Boardwalk!

Hi Mainebound,
As Goofitup says, the Bakery has a great selection of pastries and beverages - we really liked the crumb bun. As we were at the BWI we used our re-fillable mugs here. It is neat to sit at a table and watch the people and boats. Spoodles next door has an excellent full breakfast. If you have an extra few minutes stop in Seashore Sweets and peruse all the Miss America pictures and stuff. By the way, we will be at the Swan in August. This whole area is fantastic, and we think you will love it.
Have a magical trip!! Peg and Bob

I got a chocolate croissant, but tried some of DS's vanilla & chocolate frosted donuts. OMG! Those were the best donuts Ive ever had....even better than Krispy Kremes. :D I would go again and get them.

Our 1 complaint about the Bakery is that you enter toward the left of the counter, where your order is taken. However, the display case, showing what everything they have is, is over to the right. We ended up stepping over there and letting people go in front of us until we all decided what we wanted. It was a little hectic, being our first time. But now I know...order the donuts. ;)

Thanks guys! I guess I will have to eat an eclair in honor of Texas, a crumb bun for New Jersey, and a vanilla and chocolate frosted donut for Mass. I predict I'm going to be asking the Moderators for a new board when I get back, "Losing the Disney 15" LOL!

When we were there in November, 2003, we were quite disappointed in the bakery. My daughter even refers to the Boardwalk area as "that place with the bad bakery." We did not, however, go for breakfast pastries. Maybe those are better. We wanted a nice baguette and cheese for an evening snack; the bread was awful. We threw it away.

Try Spoodles for breakfast....they even have Mickey waffles!

.... then go to the bakery at France in EPCOT for breakfast! If you're staying at the Swan, it's not much of a walk if you use the International Gateway, and it's well worth the trip! They have fantastic croissants and other temptations and also have great chocolate chaud (hot chocolate!) and coffee!!! (Hope you're staying warm up here, my fellow Mainah!)

This will work so long as you're okay with a really late breakfast. Although the International Gateway entrance to Epcot will be open at the time of park opening (usually 9 am, an hour earlier on early entry day), the World Showcase does not open until 11 am. There is a rope guarded by a CM at the bridge over to France, and the shops in World Showcase are not open until this section of the park opens. Prior to 11 am you have to head toward England and Canada on the way to Future World.

Just returned from Disney yesterday! :(

We stayed at the Dolphin and loved it. We ate at Tubbis and it was very good for the $.

We also ate at the Beach Club (in walking distance) at the Cape May Cafe - great character breakfast. They also have a clam bake for dinner - never heard about that before.

We went into the Boardwalk Bakery just to check it out - looked delicious!

Have fun!

My favourite at the Boardwalk Bakery are the Cinnamon Yummies! They've also got a crumbly coffee cake which is also very tasty :) Sounds like I'll also have to try the chocolate eclairs and donuts the next time I'm there!

The bakery in Norway also has good pasteries too. My favourite there is the cloudberry horn!

Here's a great plan....

Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast to include chocolate eclair, crumb bun, and chocolate & vanilla frosted donuts. When World Showcase opens at 11:00, swing over to Norway for a cloudberry horn for lunch. Hit Canada for a Beaver Tail at snack time and then make it to France for a pastry of your choice for dinner. Sounds like a perfect vacation to me!

Mainebound - I'll see you on the "Losing the Disney 15" board! :p

Sorry, bunnyfoo, I left you out!

On your way back to the hotel, stop again at Boardwalk Bakery for Cinnamon Yummies and crumbly coffee cake. Consider it a night cap.

.........I don't want anyone to think I discriminate against Canadians!..........:p :p :p

Noooo problem :) We should save room for a Kitchen Sink dinner! I like your first plan a lot! Although, I think you'd have to take me out of Epcot at the end of the day on a wheelbarrow:laughing:

O wow i am staying at BWV from March 13 thru the March 18. If I follow that dining plan, I will have that 15 pounds to lose too. Another reason we like the area is for the pizza window. Might have to add a slice of pizza to that diet.

I have never been - but they did a special on this bakery on the food network. You know it must be good if the food network is willing to come and feature it on their channel.

We already have a diet board! LOL!! It is call "WISH" and hop on over to get some moral support from those trying to lose the Disney 15... :teeth:

LOL....I can just picture ME in a wheelbarrow!!!

Just wondering if they still have Cinnamon Yummies at the Boardwalk Bakery? We loved them on a trip in 2001 but they don't seem to appear on the current menu for the bakery on allears.com

Yup, they're still there :) They're listed under the Baked Fresh Daily section. I hope they don't take them off the menu before I go back in October!
